The only “complaint” I had was they didn’t leave enough towels in the room while they ask you to bring to Onsen. I had to ask for extra. No complaint as the hostess gave me one instantly. Given this is an onsen resort, I’d think they could leave more towels in the room or keep some at onsen place."

The hospitality was outstanding from beginning to end. Both dinner and breakfast were simple, homemade-style meals, but absolutely delicious and prepared with care. Sometimes it’s the simplest food that leaves the best impression. We stayed in a basic room, which was small, but perfectly adequate for a good night’s sleep. Everything we needed was there, and the warm hospitality more than made up for the room’s size. A truly memorable stay thanks to the wonderful service, delicious meals, and welcoming atmosphere. We would happily return and highly recommend Pension Arma!"

"This ryokan was one of the absolute highlights of our Japan trip. As a couple travelling with two young adult kids, it was the perfect place for all of us to slow down and recharge after Tokyo. The biggest highlight was the four private onsens — no reservations needed, yet there was always at least one (often even more) available. It made everything feel so relaxed and effortless. The ryokan itself is small, intimate, and incredibly well thought out, with beautiful attention to detail and high-quality touches like POLA amenities. If you want to experience a true traditional ryokan, this is it. There were hardly any foreigners, and the staff spoke very little English — but somehow we managed just fine, which made it feel even more authentic. The secluded setting adds to that peaceful, escape-from-it-all vibe. The food deserves a special mention — we stayed for two nights and every breakfast and dinner was completely different and absolutely exquisite. It really elevated the whole experience. We were initially concerned about having no bathroom in the room, but it turned out to be the best thing — it gave us more reason to keep going back to the onsen. Our kids loved it so much they’ve already made us promise to return on our next Japan trip. Highly recommend. ✨"
