This very interesting and artsy apartment still had a touch of home and felt comfortable. Paola had twisted her ankle just hours before our arrival, but still made sure we were well taken care of and was helpful and friendly. The location is great, easily within walking distance of the bus/train station as well as the major sites in Palermo. Great place to stay. We would stay here again.

Convenient area in historic district. Third floor walk-up, no elevator. Elegant large rooms. Host was pleasant but distracted so not as much help finding local info. Breakfast was slim by B&B standards- bread, jam, coffee. Boiled eggs were provided on request.

Posizione comodissima a due passi dalla stazione e da una piazzetta con una tranquilla vita notturna. Personale gentile. Arredamento e ambienti originali che creano una piacevole atmosfera. Purtroppo la struttura è priva di insegne e non sono presenti indicazioni sul citofono e quindi è di difficile individuazione.

A Pleasant Stay

This beautiful bed & breakfast is reminiscent of a small palazzo and it features lovely artwork. My room was spacious and comfortable with nice amenities. The location is excellent, with a five minute walk to the central train station as well as the airport shuttle. Practically next door is the bus stop (fermata) for the free-- yes free!-- shuttle bus which drives all around the historic district with stops at major attractions. It runs approximately every twenty minutes and it is a great way to see historic Palermo. The hostesses Paola and her daughter, also named Paola, are very gracious. They even cooked a delicious, traditional Sicilian dinner one evening for all guests. It is advisable though, to have a portable translation device with you because their english is limited. All in all, it was a nice experience. The price is reasonable and if you appreciate the arts, which I do, then this is the place for you.

Semplicemente geniale!

Situato in una posizione strategica per visitare Palermo in tutta tranquillità la dimora del genio è stata la base perfetta per il nostro soggiorno a Palermo. Siamo stati accolti dalla Signora Paola che ci ha subito fatto sentire a nostro agio e consigliato cosa vedere a Palermo anche fuori dai soliti circuiti turistici. La dimora del genio è arredata squisitamente e la nostra camera era bellissima e pulitissima. Il soffitto era tutto affrescato mentre le maioliche della tradizione siciliana arredavano il bagno e il pavimento. La colazione inoltre è stata la ciliegina sulla torta, oltre a dolci tipici siciliani fatti in casa abbiamo avuto la possibilità di gustare dei succhi di frutta fatti in casa davvero ottimi. Badare bene non si parla della solita spremuta d'arancia ma di succhi di melone, pesca e pera e così via tutti preparati giornalmente con frutta fresca e succosa. Consigliatissimo per tutto!

Nice hotel with beautiful interior

We experienced a very warm welcome by the very friendly owner (who unfortunately doesn't speak English very well, but makes up for it with her enthusiasm), the apartement is clean and right in the middle of the old part of Palermo. The rooms are equipped with beautiful old furnitures, The central train and bus station is a 10 minutes walk away and there are some fun bars right across the streets.

Enastående patriciervåning med air av gångna tider, storslagna salar med en blandning av modern design, äkta mattor och kuriosa. Den gamla damen som tog emot mig bjöd på vatten och färska fikon. Lite svårt att hitta, för det står ingen skylt på dörren. Takfläkt ovanför sängen, badrum med dusch, handdukar och schampo. Sympatisk service: när jag berättade att jag skulle avresa före frukosten, ställde man in en termos med kaffe och en påse kakor så att jag int ebehövde ge mig av helt på fastande mage. Kvarteret är ganska ruffigt, men det är nära centralstationen och busstationen. Något bullrig nattmiljö.

Our first 4 of a 14 day visit to Sicily were in Palermo, staying at La Dimora El Genio. Our Italian is virtually non-existent, and our host, Paola has practically no English, but we communicated very successfully. This is not a 5 star brand name hotel, this is a gracious,spacious, family home which provided us with a wonderful introduction to Sicily.

En déplacement professionnel d'une semaine à Palerme, qui est une ville que je commence à bien connaître, il était nécessaire que je sois bien logé, dans un lieu paisible et accueillant. L'appartement est envoutant, beau comme la maison de parents issus d'une longue tradition bourgeoise, et la propriétaire des lieux est extrêmement agréable. L'emplacement est parfait (gare à 5 mn à pied, centre historique à 10 mn, 1/4 heure). Que demander de plus ?
