"We stayed for just a single night at the Politeama a few days ago. Our room was excellent - spacious and modern. The rooftop restaurant offered fabulous views and the food was excellent. Every member of staff we encountered was courteous, friendly and genuinely helpful. Top marks go to the concierge Dorotea - we had a challenging travel situation when our ferry to Panarea was cancelled. She showed exemplary, genuine commitment to identifying the best possible solution for us, and made sure she stayed in touch with us in case we needed any further help along the way. Against the odds, we made it to Panarea the same day, which would not have been possible without Dorotea’s assistance. If Sicily holds a Hotel Concierge of the Year competition, she has to be Numero Uno!"

"Wonderful hotel -- like a palace in a botanical garden! The staff answers your every wish, the food is so delicious and the grounds so beautifully kept that you never want to leave. Views of the sunrise over the water as you eat breakfast are picture postcard. The harbor and flowers, the sound of birds every morning, the elegant decor and original woodwork, all combine in a setting that produces one of the best vacations to Italy I have ever experienced."

"Initial impression when entering to find an actual desk with PCs on it inside the door rather than an actual check in reception desk was a bit of a shock for 4* establishment. Reception staff very nice, friendly and helpful. Nice to have water at reception area - not there later on at night. Room very tired looking but clean, furniture dated. Shower cubicle small - might be an issue for some people. Shower caps in bathroom no other toiletries apart from pump soap and shower gel - again would expect more for 4* hotel. Slippers provided but poor quality and didn't last for our stay. Not enough power sockets so difficulty charging more than one at a time. Bed very comfy, AC good. Nice to get free water first night. Mini fridge good. Safe very small. Breakfast - same most days very little variation. When things run out need to ask for replacement. Some hot food available. Pastries and cakes excellent. Not much bread selection. Paper cups for juice etc again not what you would expect for a 4* hotel. Coffee good when available as machines frequently broke down. Also proper cups for hot beverages frequently ran out. Can get very busy at certain times in am. No English channels on TV. Able to leave luggage on checkout. Location great - restaurants, bars, shops nearby. Not too far to walk to airport coach stop. Downstairs bathroom is amazing it has been updated and if rest of hotel done to that standard will be fab. Lift very small. Unable when not in room for do not disturb notice."

"Very nice place to stay, nice view over the city and the sea. A little far from the city if you don't have a car but they offer shuttle. Nice pool and SPA, The restaurannt food is very good and not too expensive. The breakfast is good and diversify."
