Very nice, quaint room in a 1925 building
Room review
At first I was kind of skeptical about the location. I thought I was getting a unbelievable deal at the Breaker hotel only to find out later that it wasn’t at the breaker but fairly close. I was going to dispute the booking but I decided to give it a try. To my surprise it was a very nice room (for my particular need). I was only there for a day and a half so I didn’t need much.
The host
Candi was very accommodating. She answered all my questions and was reachable via email/ text. She had an assistant that wasn’t reachable at all but most of my questions were answered by her or her doorman.
Location:
Upscale location near the beach. Light pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Approximately 2 1/2 blocks from the room.
The room
Smaller than expected, but clean and very intimate. There was no kitchen but there was a small refrigerator with attached freezer and a microwave.
She also had a armoire type cabinet that consisted of books, wine glasses, coffee cup/maker, a bowl, sunscreen and other little useful Knickknacks. I thought it was a nice touch to the room. There wasn’t a lot of lighting (two lamps and the natural light from the window).
There’s a small TV and a closet full of towels and extra lines. The AC gets really cold which was a plus (for my guest at least). I would recommend providing a larger trash can for trash. The showe had a updated shower head and the water got really hot, which is a plus for me.
On my last day….I did notice a few ants in the bathroom but I’m assuming that’s normal since there’s so many trees near the window and they’re probably searching for water. There was spray under the sink which was very helpful.
The only real issue I experienced was the parking.
Parking
There is NONE. We ended up parking at the nearest parking garage about 1.2 miles away ($10 a night) and caught a share ride back to the room.
