This was a great Boutique Hotel in the Downtown area of Panama city. The suite was large, renovated nicely, with a comfortable bed and high pressure shower with steaming hot water.

This was my first time trying out Grand Evenia, and let me just say—I had such a great experience! The staff is top-tier and incredibly pleasant. Their breakfast bar is the perfect blend of European and Spanish flavors. Housekeeping always kept things fresh (if that’s what you prefer), and OMG—the rooftop bar is such a vibe! My only hiccup was not having a microwave in our room, so we couldn’t heat up leftovers. Outside of that, I’ll definitely be back!

This place was “ok”. It is small. We accessed our room from the outside hall so it felt a little downmarket/motel-ish. The decor is retro so the hotel feels updated. It is cute inside and the food is good. It was tough to get an extra pillow. The pool was CLOSED at 7pm on Friday night so the kids never were able to play in the pool. It wasn’t awful but we will not stay here again.

Nice, centrally located property. Convenient access to the usual points of interest. Quiet rooftop pool and outstanding selection at breakfast buffet. Local shops ( Concordia Plaza, Gran Morrison ) and great restaurants ( Puntarena, Parillada Martin Fierro) in easy walking distance.

Arron the front desk agent was/is exceptional at his job. He took the time out to help me figure out the best ways to move around the country and to do everything i had on my tinerary want. He is truly a great asset to the hotel. Great job arron!!

The hotel was very modern. The staff was warm and friendly. They always gretted me with a genuine and warm smile. My room was very clean and breakfast was delicious. I also ate ate the restaurant for dinner and it was good as well!

I arrived on property early because my flight was really early. And what seemed like low occupancy. I had an emergency they informed us that we had to wait till 3pm to give us the room key because that is check in time. Whilst I understand this, I also think that expections could be made. Their monring staff was helpful when it came to assisting with a wheelchair and finding the nearest ER. But to have guest that was obviously in pain and need of somwhere to rest on a chair at your restuarant bar was a big no no. The room could've been provided before 3pm because it was ready. I still ended up getting back looong after checking time when i was done with the ER. When we finally got to the room it was really stuffy, it was obvious that the cleaners aren't thorough. I even witnessed it once by a room service visit. We ended up staying for 4 nights and opted to spend the rest of our time in Panama at another hotel and this was one of the best decisions we made. Also the breakfast is as Continental as it gets. Same thing on rotation every Morning. I was getting tired of it. Mike was an amazing staff

Decent Stay

Overall I had a decent stay at Gran Evenia Panama. Had some issues with the toilet seat not being attached when I first checked into my room. Maintenance was supposed to repair the issue while I went out to get food but when I returned the repair was not done due to no maintenance person being available. It was a bit annoying because I just arrived from a late flight and wasn’t told about a maintenance person not being available from the start. They moved me to another room but there were a few areas that could’ve been cleaned better. Hair was in the sink, shower and on the nightstand. Otherwise, room was very spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Hotel was in a convenient location within walking distance to shops and restaurants, and staff was friendly. Breakfast was delicious! Nice rooftop pool and bar area. I would stay here again.

Week in Panamá City

Firstly this is not the 5 star property it claims to be! It’s decent but a little rough round the edges, for example the wiring for the TV and mood lighting in our room were exposed and the cardboard packaging for the flat pack furniture could be seen underneath where they couldn’t be bothered to unpack it properly and cut around it! There’s a pleasant rooftop pool but it’s quite small and not as good as the photos portray it to be. It’s fine when there’s nobody else using it. Only 2 loungers and 2 sunbeds so it’s a lottery whether you’ll get one. The bar opens late afternoon and then there will be music blaring out from it. Breakfast is basic but passable. There’s scrambled egg and sausage/backon, toast, pastries, cheese, fruit and yoghurts. Some of the pastries looked liked they’d been baked in an incinerator 😂 Overall it’s decent value for money, just don’t expect too much.
