"During our 8-day stay, the room had a strong moldy smell, as if it had been unoccupied for a long time. While the odor did lessen over time, it remained unpleasant throughout the entire stay. Additionally, the pool area is quite small relative to the number of guests. It was often difficult to find available lounge chairs, and the area tended to be crowded and noisy. The elevator is also small and often crowded, which added to the inconvenience. The staff was not particularly helpful during our stay. I also had a haircut at the hotel salon, and the result was very disappointing. Given these issues, I am unsure how this property qualifies as a five-star hotel. "

"We stayed one night on a layover from Atlanta to Manta Ecuador. The shuttle picked us up from the airport without problems. The hotel was clean and modern. The staff was friendly. The prices for food and snacks were exorbitant and out of line with the cost of items in Panama, however,"
