"We had a marvellous time at Caracal Lodge. It was a wonderful away from it all experience. Magtree Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped even though there is no electricity, power being supplied by gas appliances, paraffin lamps and LED lighting. It was magical to wake up with views of the resident giraffe family as well as zebra, impala, horses and a pet pig! Outside there was a braai, fire pit in a lovely shaded area and a small pond. Exploring the 300 hectare game park there...

"We first stayed at Bongani Mountain Lodge 15 years ago and returned when we saw it on special over new year. Not much has changed in 15 years. We had a nice time - the food was good and our ranger and tracker were pleasant and informative. I would not rate this lodge as luxury. The room, with a queen size bed, had seen better days and with the thatch roof and poor choice of tiles it always seemed a bit grubby. The game viewing is not great. "The overall stay was OK. Room amenities where great and it was very comfortable. However, it was very noisy the Saturday morning when we woke, workers and guests. I had to phone in on Saturday afternoon when our room was not made up when we were gone the entire day, even when indicated so with the sign on the door. "
