We absolutely loved our stay at Alva Valley. Great atmosphere, breakfast & amazing customer service with very nice rooms. So nice to escape from the crowds in Porto. We stayed here after our drive through Douro Valley. Highly recommend coming here to unwind.

Wonderful, quiet location away from the regular tourist track. Awesome property with big rooms, great pool, and really wonderful "surprise dinners" made by their chef. The meals here were probably some of the best meals we had in Portugal during our two week trip. The drink and wine selection was also superb! Location and hotel are stunning. Rooms are exquisitely decorated and the swimming pool is a dream

The property is out in the quiet countryside about 15 minutes from a small town with restaurants, etc. The hotel itself provides breakfast and you can have dinner there as well for an additional price which is very reasonable. It has a beautiful large pool and is nice overall for relaxing. A wonderful, quiet getaway.

Charming beautifully decorated cottages. We enjoyed fire place, deck, library, and pottery workshop. There is a delicious healthy breakfast served in the cafe every morning. Staff is incredibly nice and helpful. We hiked to a nearby village. We will definitely come back.

Hands down the best stay we’ve had in Portugal. Javier and his staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had the very best time. The amenities were top notch. The food was a perfect mix of something new and some home. The part that needs to be highlighted is how accommodating they were in such short notice with two small children. We were welcomed with open arms. Highly recommend.
