Rooms are very small, but relatively well appointed. Hotel is kind of quirky. Rooms are accessed by a single elevator that worked intermittently during our four day stay. Location is the major selling point. Staff is friendly. We did not take advantage of hotel’s breakfast.

Fantastic staff at the front desk - very accommodating, kind, and helpful. The breakfast every morning was delicious and the hotel was very central to everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again!

Decent hotel, but one issue. We booked because the room was 100 sq ft bigger than other hotels in Paris. Hours before we checked in, we received a message that the hotel overbooked our room and we were getting a smaller/different room. For the inconvenience, we were offered 40 euro/night (3 nights) discount and free breakfast. Great, except I have yet to receive the credit/discount and it’s been 3 weeks. Expedia is still fighting with the hotel for it. The location of this property was good, 10 min walk from the Louvre Museum.

We loved our stay. The hotel is adorable. The staff was lovely and the breakfast was delicious. Despite being close to lots of tourist hot spots, the street was very quiet. We would absolutely go back.

Great Stay

Great place close ten minute walk to Louvre. Quiet area and great front desk staff. Close to many bistros. Would recommend this hotel if you’re good with small room sizes.

Great little hotel, the room actually looks better in person than it does in the pictures! Room was lovely and the bathroom was especially great. What a great boutique hotel in the 1re arrondissement. Very clean hotel and rooms. Room is creatively decorated, clean, and well-stocked bathroom with l’Occitane products. Staff is so friendly and helpful! Hotel is in great location, walkable to dining options (even late night options), public transportation, shopping, and touristy areas! I would definitely stay here again. A À la prochaine!!

The staff were extremely attentive and Didier was especially kind and helpful to book our transport to the airport. He then made the necessary arrangements for the transfer to pick us up later so we could walk and enjoy the neighbourhood when our flight was delayed by a few hours.

Small rooms, delusional breakfast, difficult communication in English with the staff; poor service: no maps, no info about the city and the transports. The only thing I liked was the position: the Louvre Museum is reachable in only five minute by walking; there are really good restaurants and shops nearby.

I stayed here several years ago and it was fine. I was very disappointed for a 4 star hotel. Hardly any place to put things, no clock, no instructions on how to use the phone. I could not get the front desk. The sink area in the bath area had no place to put anything. The water in the shower jumped from cold to scalding! I was very disappointed and would have moved but I would have lost alot of money. Hotels.com did help me get my money back on a second reservation when I learned that I may have to return home early. Thank you for that.

Absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Crayon Rouge! The decor was everything!!! This place is an art, vintage, and literary lover’s dream. The staff was very nice and helpful with recommendations. Everything was clean and tidy, and felt very safe walking to and from the hotel. You can also leave your luggage before check-in and after check-out if you’d like to explore Paris before departing. It’s a short walk (10-20 min) to the Louvre, Musée de L’Orangerie, and Musée D’Orsay. About the same distance on the metro to some really fun thrift stores in Marais. I got around and back quickly and safely as a solo traveler. It’s in front of the Banque de France so it’s pretty quiet at night, perfect for myself since my room was on the second floor. I slept like a baby.
