This five-star stone hotel is a true gem. The manicured gardens are stunning — every corner immaculately kept, perfect for peaceful morning walks. But what truly elevated our stay was the staff: warm, professional, and attentive at every turn. The management clearly sets a high standard, and it shows in the seamless, thoughtful service throughout — from check-in to housekeeping to dining. A beautiful property backed by a team that genuinely cares. Highly recommend! Management should be proud!

Great rooms, quiet and very relaxing. Breakfast was outstanding and dinner was also over the top. The staff was even better than great rooms and fantastic food. Highly recommend this location for multi day relax and recharge.

The property is such a hidden gem, a quite get away but a 10 min drive into town, the staff was so helpful and kind.

Great value. Casual Family run hotel, they take pride of their property and it shows. Good breakfast and if you don’t want to walk down to town center for dinner, their restaurant at night is good too. Fátima at the front desk was fantastic! Portuguese hospitality at its best.

My wife and I stayed here while visiting Peneda-Gerês National Park. Sao Bento was a fantastic location for exploring the park and trails in the surrounding area. The hotel is a short 10-15-minute drive to Campo do Geres, where we went on a great hike (Cidade da Calcedónia trail) followed by a terrific drive through the park, along the Rio Homem (lake) to the Spanish border, and back down N-308-1. The hotel staff recommended a hike that left from the front door of the hotel. While...

This was a very beautiful hotel. Nice breakfast buffet and beautiful grounds. Parking is extremely limited so reserve in advance to secure a spot in their tiny garage. We did not use the spa services as we were out and about. We had a room with a balcony and a river view and it was perfect.

Great place, the steam room it’s free and amazing, the indoor pool it’s well maintained, excellent breakfast and the staff it’s so good.

Beautiful place!

Our two-night stay at Paço de Calheiros was absolutely wonderful. We were met in the courtyard by Francisco, the Count Calheiros. He showed us to our room while giving us a quick rundown of the property and invited us to refreshments on the patio before dinner. He joined us and four other guests at dinner during which he provided an interesting history of the century’s old estate/vineyard and the Calheiros family. After dinner the Count gave us a tour of the castle. The location of this hotel...

Lovely clean rooms with a nice sized restroom. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Our room included a large outdoor area with table and chairs that our children enjoyed. Front desk staff was friendly and accommodating to our requests. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with lots of options for the whole family.

This was by far one of the most luxurious high end hotels by far in Portugal, service was fantastic and you will be wow by the attention and overall everything from staff to clean room and great aesthetics

This property is the perfect place to unwind and relax. We especially enjoyed the staff who were so helpful in planning our tour, scheduling taxis and answering all our questions. Dine here too, the food is excellent!

A great boutique hotel to kick back and relax for a few days while traveling in Northern Spain and Portugal. The staff couldn't be nicer and we're always very helpful.

Nice reception staff and excellent amenities A bit far from the city center

This was a highlight from our trip. Exceptional experience, property and service. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent stay here for 3 nights in February. The room, indoor pool, and restaurant were excellent. In particular, the restaurant menu was extensive and reasonably priced, making the decision to eat at the resort easy.

Great hotel, amenities and general service. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
