We felt at ease with the owner (Dany?), she spoke very good English and told us why she had decided to turn what was originally her family home into a small hotel. "Comme à la maison ! Greg et Sophie sont hyper accueillant et sympathique. On s est senti comme chez la famille c est à dire très à l’aise. Le domaine est magnifique. Le repas préparé par Greg est divin ! Je n’ai Jamais mangé une purée aussi bonne. Nous avions une chambre de 48 m2 tout était prévu pour nos enfants Encore merci à Sophie et Greg ! "

"Martin was a great host. The only food option is pizza in the evening which was fine for us but there aren't any food options within walking distance. The breakfast was basic but very pleasant, including some home grown produce. The pool area was nice and although very cold we enjoyed a swim. It was so peaceful and helped us switch off for a few hours. Overall we think Martin offers great value for money, the rooms are basic and don't have any mod cons but it was perfect for a one night stay...

"The most wonderful hosts and idyllic location. Beautiful huge garden, always plenty going on in what seemed like a very small town. Stephen and Michaela were so warm and welcoming and were very knowledgeable on the local area with some fabulous recommendations for food and things to do nearby. Great facilities and very clean house, even had an air fryer which is a proper luxury in France! There is so much in and around Confolens if you’re willing to look for it! Would stay again in a heart beat."
