"We had a fantastic time during this stay, the area is beautiful. I cannot speak higher on the extra path off the back into town. The pool is perfect and the bedrooms and comfortable. There are two living room areas, we never used the top floor one but I’m sure if you had kids or more people it would be great. "

"You know, you get what you pay for in life. If you want all mod cons and luxury, there are plenty of places on Korcula that will charge you twice what we paid. We took the risk instead and, although it was a little quirky, we loved out stay. The air con worked (thank goodness, it was 35 degrees), the shower water pressure was good, and it was comfortable enough. And if there were any deficiencies, they were absolutely negated by the incredible views from the balcony. Big enough to sit out, enjoy breakfast and watch the swallows, it really made our stay. A kettle rather than a small saucepan would be a worthy addition, and it was a little odd that the bathroom door was partially obstructed by the shower rail, but these things really didn't detract from our 4 night stay. The mattress was a little soft for me, but I do prefer the firmer variety. As for Vela Luka itself, we were worried that we'd foregone Korcula Old Town for the 'wrong' end of the island. But Vela Luka utterly charmed us with its laid-back feel, it's wonderful restaurants and its largely unspoilt, quieter beauty. By contrast, our visit to Korcula Old Town was slightly disappointing. If you are even considering swimming in the sea, a visit to the small island of Proizd is a must. Only 35 minutes away by water taxi and simply paradise! But the waters around Vela Luka bay are equally as crystal clear and beautiful and we swam many times in many places. Bring beach shoes though, the sea anemones can be prickly!"

"This is a lovely property with easy access to swimming and a quaint town. Feels like living with the locals as compared to other areas of the island. The apartment is comfortable and well stocked, including a generous welcome basket. The best part is swimming right off the dock in the backyard. If you want to be in the center of the action on Korcula, this is 30 minutes from there. If looking for a quiet escape with access to those places, this is perfect. "

"We spent a wonderful holiday at Plaza Pičena and were completely taken by its incredible setting. Easy access to the sea and private cabanas felt like an absolute luxury. The small restaurant on site run by Mario and his family was a highlight. We observed several yachts making a special trip to dine there and felt lucky to have found such a hidden gem.That said, the accommodation itself did not quite meet a luxury standard. The interiors were functional but lacked some attention to detail, particularly in the kitchen, where basic supplies were missing or insufficient. We later noticed in previous reviews that other guests had raised similar concerns, which unfortunately seem to have gone unaddressed.If you are seeking an unbeatable seaside location with a warm, family-run vibe, this is a wonderful choice. With a few improvements to the accommodation, it could truly match the world-class beauty of its surroundings."

"This place is stunning and gives a wonderful homely vibe. It's clear how much love and care have been invested in both the place itself and the experience of the guests.Alex is a wonderful host who communicates really well and deeply cares about the experience as a whole.Cara is the sweetest place, with the supermarket a minute walk away and tiny lovely beaches about 40 minute walk. I was there with the dog every morning at 6am.We also went scuba diving 30 minutes away and had a great experience.Everyone around is friendly and happy to help. Korcula isn't far and we had a wonderful time there as well. The only reason for the 4 star is the lack of AC. We were unlucky to have a long heatwave and the fans and mobile ACs were nowhere near fighting it. Sleep was hard, as well as staying outside to enjoy beautiful view.We also struggled badly with the mosquitoes, who were very persistent.I'd say that outside of the peak heat times, the place is amazing."

"It was a wonderful hotel for relaxation. A great stop between split and Dubrovnik to relax by the sea. The views were amazing. Staff was very helpful in coordinating a trip to old town Korcula. Breakfast has lots of variety and was good. Swimming and relaxing by the sea was great!"
