"Overall, I would not dissuade anyone from renting the property but it did not live up to the glowing reports we based our decision on when we booked & accordingly we were disappointed. The property is in a traditional style, some areas would benefit from improvement as they are clearly worn. The main issue was that the entire house smelt very musty and this was very strong given the intense heat. Opening all windows doors etc obviously helped, the smell reduced but did not go entirely...

"This house in very confusing layout and the electronics for lights, curtains, gates, etc are confusing and difficult to use. The yard is not maintained. Great view of the ocean. This is in a suburban/rural area with no stores or shops near. Only 1/2 of the home was rented to us. b"

"Superbe maison au calme et proche de tout (Espagne, St jean de Luz, commerces). Grand terrain pour les enfants, piscine en plein soleil. Les chambres sont très correctes et confortables. Propriétaire très sympathique et plutôt arrangeant. Selon nous, il manque un peu d'équipements pour les tous petits (barrière dans les escaliers et éventuellement un lit parapluie d'appoint) mais pour les enfants, ras, de quoi jouer à disposition (foot, rugby, skate,...). Le b-mol c'est la facturation...

"The house is beautiful and very well equipped. It felt like home. The setting and views are spectacular. We felt very comfortable and Maria made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Not only did Maria greet us with a warm welcome (and a few local delicacies), showed us through the house and how appliances worked etc., but she also provided lots of information on things to do in the area, best grocery stores, restaurant recommendations and directions to walk into town. "Jean-Yves est quelqu'un de sympathique et à l'écoute. Le logement était parfait avec ses 6 chambres et 6 salles de bain pour une famille de 10. et bien situé le long de la côte basque entre Bayonne et Hendaye et proche de l'autoroute. Piscine et jacuzzi au top. Baby-foot et billard ont énormément plus. Bémol : vétusté des appareil de sport, draps et serviettes tachées (mais des taches propres - du moins je pense), et remontée d'odeur dans les salles de bain. cela ne nous a pas empêché de passer...

Les plus courageux peuvent rejoindre la grande plage de Bidart à pied. "We had a great stay at this villa which is perfectly located, very close to the beautiful beaches (one is only 200 m away, just at the bottom of the street, and the next just 600 m), but also not far from the town centres of Ciboure/Socoa and St-Jean-de-Luz with bakeries, shops and restaurants (all in walking distance). The view from the large terrace is wonderful! We really enjoyed it."

"There is construction pretty close to the property, but it didn’t seem to get too loud. This wouldn’t be good for toddlers, as there are 5 flights of stairs. However, the elevator worked very well. "We had a wonderful stay at Villa Aresti! It was the perfect base to begin our month long exploration of Spain. Lots of space for a family (or 2). Perfect location for beach access and it was nice to have outdoor space as well. One of the only non-apartment stays we saw in the whole City, which is what we were after. Shots were very helpful and very easy to contact. Would definitely recommend a stay here and hope to be back again!"

"We have just had three nights here and what a fantastic three nights they were. The property is lovely and in the perfect location, just a short stroll from old town (5 mins) and new town (5 mins). Despite being so central it was very quiet, and we had two balconies with our room (204!) including a glimpse of the sea! All the staff were lovely and friendly, and provided a map with recommendations. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you "
