"We truly appreciated the magic of the amazing restoration job of this historic hotel! Such friendly and welcoming staff and quiet location but walkable to everywhere. If you are celiac, give them notice and they will prepare a GF breakfast option. We absolutely LOVED our stay! *Only thing to note about the hotel that could be an issue for some is the train the runs late into the night and early in the morning right out the back - but the soundproofing is so well done / the old walls so thick we only heard a deep vibration/rumbling in our room that we generally slept through (though I wear earplugs) - may be a different story if your room faces the train tracks so be sure to request a street facing room if you are an light sleeper. Thanks again Original Douro!!"
