Adventure, seclusion, history, a memorable holiday all in the making at Hidden Gem. Situated 16klm south of Kaikoura, perched perfectly overlooking remarkable views of the coastal marine reserve. You are sure to see pods of dolphins playing and even the odd whale. The historic cottage has recently been renovated although still retaining the bach charm. Loved it, location was fantastic, kekeno are just down the shoreline, town up the road, lovely house to stay with everything you woukd need. Getting into the driveway can be abit gnarly but being patient crossing is key, nga mihi atu ra.

Overall it was perfect. The views can't be beat and the batch was really clean and had a nice area upstairs during the day to enjoy the view and dolphin watch. During the night the downstairs is cooler and cosy. It does lose one star however because the upstairs bedroom smells of smoke and the downstairs one isn't really suitable for a couple given the single bed blocks you easily getting in and out of bed and no bedside tables.
