"The villa is beautiful, spacious, has character. The high ceiling in the lounge is stunning, the view over the hills to the sea is great. The garden contains a number of quite interesting plants. With its central location (in relation to the road network), the villa makes an excellent basis to explore the entire island. "The old fort is a place like no other I've ever been to. The setting is atop a hill with almost 360 views of the ocean from the tower room where we stayed. The breezes were delightful and I even had to ask for a blanket. Other rooms have air conditioning if you want, but we liked the rustic top floor. Quirin and Otmar were perfect hosts, regaling us with stories of life on Bequia, archeology, philosophy, and the vision and hard work that went into turning a ruin into a paradise. The staff was...
