Lovely little town with nice shops. It is difficult to drive in because there are a majority of one way streets so if you miss what you are looking for you have to make a big circle. However, the restaurants and shopping facilities are nice.
We hired guide for Hadrians wall, Peter Carney. He was fabulous, well worth the price. He can be found by internet search.
One shop in three was boarded up and closed
Windermere was beautiful 20 minutes drive over beautiful mountains with lovely views. Tight Z roads with Sheep and Goats.
Enjoyed the castle and grounds
The King Arthur jousting area is near, if you belive in folklore.
