Room was a bit dated, in need of a paint brush as much of the woodwork was peeling. Bathroom was adequate with a shower over the bath and quite a high step getting in and out. Toilet made an awful noise through the plumbing, and a previous occupiers bar of soap left on floor of electric radiator. Bed was comfortable and the room warm. Communal spaces littered with room service crockery from the time I arrived until the time I left. Reception staff pleasant, and the breakfast was the highlight of my stay, with so much to choose from. The only downside was the number of staff that on duty was a bit overwhelming, no sooner had you finished with one plate, it was whipped away.
The room was spotlessly clean! Bed was comfortable and the surroundings beautiful. The food was highly priced so we didn’t eat on site.
The only downside was very cheap toilet roll! Better quality would be better and wouldn’t cost more as you would need to use less!
We truly enjoyed our stay at Orton Hall. We love traditional hotels with charachter. The grounds were lovely and walkable. Would stay again.

We had a few days stay over a long weekend and I can say the staff were excellent and the spa and pool were great and just what we wanted
I would return again
Stayed with our dog, was the most stress free stay. Can’t recommend highly enough.
All staff were friendly, helpful and professional.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
Poor Spa facilities, not enough seating throughout pool area so could not sit and relax or read. Not clean in many areas. Only one treadmill and one cross-trainer (located basically in a corridor), this is not a fitness area, very inadequate. Lots of buckets from leaking roof throughout hotel.Rooms facilities much better. Beautiful building and grounds. Basic breakfast options, adequate but nothing special. Would stay for the room only, certainly not the spa or fitness facilities. Rate would need to be reduced to exclude the spa to encourage me to return
Whilst only a one-night stay, everything was perfect. All staff friendly and clearly properly trained. I particularly appreciated the spontaneous mini-tour of this historic building and brief summary of its history

Room dated and broken furniture in bed and bathroom
3star at best
Nice evening meal in pleasant dining room
Breakfast in a meeting room with not enough space to get between for me once others sat down and a disabled guest had to walk all round the room to get to her table, table cleared knocking into the back of guest chairs to get by , no apologies, fried eggs dried out and rubbish ,such a shame after a good meal the night before. Definitely not 5 star

Window in room was broken & sealed with tape!
Wasn’t placed in booked room type but was sited in another of a similar standard
We stayed in the heritage four poster room, it was warm and the bed was so comfy. Food at the ramblewood inn was delicious, was lovley to relax at the spa for a few hours too
