I didn't end up staying at the accommodation. The listing on Expedia and the name of the room made it sound like this room was in a multi-unit hotel type accommodation. The neighborhood is a run down and there are no nearby restaurants or facilities. When I arrived at the unit it was clearly a remodeled residence converted to have several units. It was an older building with a door directly onto the street with no lobby or front desk. There is no manager or assistance on site. There was a keypad for entry on the front door which went directly onto the street and then another keypad for entry into the unit. Once inside the unit it was clean and nicely decorated although clearly an older dwelling. There was no deadbolt inside the unit and there was a back door to a small back yard with no dead bolt. There was no way to prevent anyone else with the code from entering the unit once inside. Given that the neighborhood was questionable and I was a single female traveler, I did not feel safe staying in the unit. The communication with the managers was clear and prompt. While they assured me that they have never had any safety issues, it was my choice not to stay.
