"This 3 story unit was conveniently located right next to the parking garage and within a couple of minutes walk to a bar which had great breakfast coffee and pastry. The waterfront was only a reasonable 15 minutes away, with many restaurants and cafes. Varenna is very touristy, but in a pleasant and low key way. "There’s no question it’s a beautiful home overlooking Lake Como, with a charm that is remjniscent of something out of a Harry Potter novel. Unfortunately, the home itself self has a fair amount of deferred maintenance. Lightbulbs were burned out in master bathroom, the door handle on the washing machine was broken, certain shutters didn’t work, there is no air conditioning in any room and some of the wiring is unlikely to be up to code, although I dont know that for sure. "It was great to look at the lake. Just be prepared for a lot of stairs and narrow streets with a lot of turns. Some of the issues were that there was still some food left in the fridge, the garbage wasn't clean, the hot water finishes pretty quickly!"
