The refurbished bathrooms, complete with an illuminated powder/shaving mirror, are a thoughtful touch. At £170 for a Friday night with breakfast included, the price sits just above budget price. Well, it does for my pocket. Breakfast was generally good. The cooked options were better than average, though the continental spread of meats and cheeses didn’t quite match what the menu promised. A few listed items were missing from the buffet, which has been a recurring issue in my previous stays at this hotel. The beds use standard hard platform bases with commercial mattresses, which tend to be the hotel’s weak point. That said, the mattress during this stay was more comfortable than usual, making for a reasonable night’s sleep."
