Try the scrambled eggs!

"A little apprehension at first as there is no real ‘kerb appeal’ but this masks an excellent guest house and welcome. The glasses of fizz and canapé on arrival help us to settle in. The cooked to order breakfast is worthy of a 5 star hotel. Would recommend to those wishing to explore the North Yorkshire Moors. "

Great location but needs repair

"The house served our needs for a week. Positives are location in the centre of Pickering, a well-stocked kitchen (albeit awkward moving around the table to sink and dishwasher), renovated bathrooms (only one shower). The place was generally clean. However, I would not recommend staying until the severe damp has been remediated. The two front rooms and hallway had damp crawling up the walls. Clearly, an attempt to paint over it had been made in the past, but it needs professional renovation. There is a moldy smell on both floors. If it hadn't been for that, the place was great. We would have liked more than 2 toilet rolls to be provided, and some paper towel, but these are small comments. We did tell host and stay about the damp."

"Our stay was lovely: the manageress, bar staff and waitresses were all welcoming. They provided information about the local area and showed interest when we returned after our days out. We stayed three nights in a very comfortable room, with a good selection at breakfast. We ate in one evening which very tasty. We would definitely stay here again."

"Lovely property in the village of Pickering,parking available on premises.Lovely and clean inside and everything you would need for your break.Right in the heart of the village with shops in walking distance and close to the castle. The only downside was communication,it took 3 emails then a phone call to get any response regarding staying an extra night.There needs to be a mirror in the front bedroom over the dressing table ,had to use the other guest room to dry my hair and then we had to move the big mirror near a socket plug.There needs to be an outside light outside the door at night ,we couldn’t see a thing when we arrived back at night.This is a downstairs apartment so bare in mind that there is noise from the upstairs guests especially if they have children running up and down the room. You can’t get into your property till 4 pm but have to be out by 10am which is not even 24hours in the property!"
