"If you want a less touristy, more authentic area to stay with a characterful loft, you really can’t go wrong. 2 families visiting from the US, we stayed here on a very hot week in July. We knew ahead of time that it was not air conditioned and made every effort to keep airflow and run the fans. It was definitely warm, but the sheer ambiance of the place made it totally worth it. Everything you could need is within 5 mins walk. We ate in a new place every night and never went wrong."

OKKO Hotels Paris Gare de l'Est

OKKO Hotels Paris Gare de l'Est

8/10 Good
"The OKKO Gare de lest is a business persons hotel. It is located between the gare de lest and gare du nord, literally. One is three minutes to one side and four minutes to the other. No view of paris out your window, unless you like trains.BUT, it's located so close to the stations, metro [ subway], and RER (light rail) , a 3 to four minute walk, with escalators and elevators if you are pulling luggage. No stairs to navigate. The hotel itself has a conference center, small gym, and 24 hour coffee, tea and juice, along with small snacks in the lounge. Coffee maker in the room, but no fridge. Try and get included breakfast. Good selection of hot and cold, buffet style. The RER B takes 20 to 30 minutes to CDG or Orly airports, with a high speed line opening in 2027. Also, an underground walkway between stations in 2027 would mean a completely covered walk from either station, minus the last 30 meter (100') . Wheel chair accessibility is good, with very good access to the stations and onto trains, metro and RER. Not always the case in Paris. BOTTOM LINE. We will definitely use this as our Paris hotel of preference."
