This is the cross at Mount Samat-the site and memorial of the Bataan Death march during WWII. If you haven't read up on the atrocities of the Japanese during this time, you'll get a refresher course from the museum located on-site.
For a 360 degrees view one has to climb up the Cross. My knees were sore so I didn't do it. The alternative lift was not working at the time we visited.

Mt. Samat is a historic mountain in the town of Pilar, Province of Bataan, Philippines. Located near its summit is the Mount National Shrine, a national shrine dedicated to the fallen Filipino and American fallen during World War II.
