"I live in the valley of Arizona, this is not a new area to me, I often stay in this area going up to Sedona. I have not stayed at this hotel though. This is not business nor leisure. I am taking a long distance drive out of Arizona to stay with family due to medical reasons. All I gotta say is the girl, young woman, working the front desk upon check-in was great. It’s not busy here right now, so no, it did not take her away from her other duties, but she helped me bring a bag in, she did not have to that. She was genuine, authentic. In any form of customer service setting, an experience could be bad (this hotel is nice) but the employee could make all the difference and vice versa. I have worked many, many years, dealing directly with people in one aspect or another. As for me, I truly appreciate authenticity. Most people these days have no business working any type of job dealing with people in general. It’s either extremely scripted or they just don’t know how to even communicate with people properly, problem, solve, etc. this may seem like something very insignificant, but authenticity is rare these days. Yes she was nice, yes I find that she went the extra mile by offering to carry my bag, yes, she did her job properly, but for me, the fact she was being real and not just some scripted robot, that did it for me. You don’t come across that much these days. I also pay attention to things other people may not."
