"Everything about our stay was fantastic! The location was the perfect place for any weather from sun to rain, with plenty of space indoors/outdoors/and even a screened in covered porch. We enjoyed relaxing in the comfy deck chairs to the sounds of waves lapping below and gulls calling. It was so utterly peaceful that even if you didn’t leave the house to venture into Acadia or Bar Harbor (both extremely close) you could still call it a vacation well spent! The beds were comfy, the kitchen was the best appointed kitchen I’ve had in a rental hands down, and there were games handy to play if you wanted to. The Host was super responsive and provided really well-written instructions for everything, we had no issues with anything at all! If you’re looking for a family friendly space to get the essential Maine experience with, Overlook is the spot!"

"This was one of the best extended accommodation stays we have had anywhere in the world. It was genuinely flawless. The accommodation is two floors separated from the (charming) owners' home by the laundry room. But it looks out into the garden and beyond to the woods giving the sense that you are enjoying a secluded woodland stay. We were greeted by three deer in the garden on our arrival and saw a mother and fawn on the eve of our departure. On arrival Dave gives a comprehensive welcome and throughout our stay he and Annie responded immediately to any requests we had, and indeed discreetly checked if we needed anything more. The split level accommodation gives two living spaces if one needs to work. The kitchen is well- equipped and the washer and dryer are big and effective. The shower and TV both function just as you would wish. The heating/air conditioning was very effective. The front door operates on an easy electronic keypad so there is no need to worry about remembering keys. The bed is one of the most comfortable super-kings we have experienced - and we have literally been in tousands worldwide! From the accommodation you can walk down to the beach in five minutes - we witnessed wonderful sunsets and beautiful starlit nights there. It is a ten minute drive to Acadia National Park and fifteen to Bar Harbor with all that has to offer (we recommend the Thirsty Whale). If you really need a Walmart there is one twenty minutes away in Ellsworth. Six stars!! We'll be back!"

"This is a beautiful property in a stunning natural setting. Outstanding views of the harbor. The owners were great, keeping us informed, and making sure that all went smoothly. The photos in the description are great, but in real-life it is even better. If you are looking for a retreat on the Maine Coast this is the place. Far enough to have privacy, but close enough to get to attractions in the area, such as Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. This is not just for Summer time. We were there at the end of December, and it was still great. Highly recommended at any Season!"

"We loved our off-season stay at this little house. Comfy, close to Bar Harbor and Acadia and includes the conveniences of home. Just a few minutes walk to a nearby stone beach.
