"The grounds are absolutely stunning, we had a riverside room and it was pure paradise! Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. There's an excellent hiking trail throughout the property as well as a guided tour available across the suspension bridge into the park. Highly recommend this place for bird watchers and jungle enthusiasts alike!"

"We were warmly greeted on our arrival by super-helpful Felipe. We had an early start our first morning and asked if a 6am breakfast (90 minutes before breakfast is usually served) would be possible. Not a problem we were told. I was anticipating that we might get a pastry. But instead we started our day with the most amazing home cooked juevos rancheros. Staying in the tree house was special. The jungle can be loud at dawn and it’s a drive from nearby restaurants and tourists sites but the experience and staff make up for that. "

"Rooms are old and bathrooms doesn’t flush properly. There are no other attractions around and have to go to la fortuna for any activity which is an hour drive. The resort is good with thermal spas and pools ."

"Almendros property continues to grow into a beautiful piece of property. A gated property with several villas on a multi-acres where sloths, toucans, parrots, macaws and many other birds and animals can be found. "

"Top marks to the staff (special thanks to Xavi, Claudia, and Esteban) who made this the best hotel during our trip as their service was with a genuine smile and helpfulness. The rooms are very simple (youth hostel standard) but it is well-kept. The surroundings (lots of birds) are magical and fresh (lovingly-prepared) breakfast and dinner was very good. It is remote (that makes it special) so you do need a car or rely on transport. Highly recommend doing the Green Rivers rafting tour and the Night Tour with Sarapiqui Xperience (all booked via the hotel). "

"Wonderful trip- from as soon as we were picked up by a very helpful driver to our drop-off. The property is incredible - beautiful views of the volcano and cloud forest canopy, stunning trails along waterfalls and river paths, beautiful hummingbirds everywhere and fascinating encounters with frogs (the night tour was fantastic thanks Pablo) and toucans and big cats etc. Rooms are spacious and beautiful with stunning views. The staff are second-to-none, from the helpful front-desk staff (who had a night lunch waiting for us and an early morning breakfast due to our check-in house), to the warm and engaging wait staff, wonderful cleaners and park staff- all very knowledgeable and thoughtful and friendly. We did the white water rafting, zip line which were very fun- excellent guides again. The volcano walk, coffee plantation tour and boat safari were fantastic with a wonderful expert guide (Michael)- crocodile, howler monkeys, sloths, gorgeous birds. We learned a lot. Wish we could have stayed longer, highest of recommendations and thanks to all! "
