Comfort in Pgh

Second time to stay here. Works great for us because it is so close to family. Unit is comfortable and quiet. Close to all things Pgh. I love to sit on the porch in the morning with coffee and watch the old Pgh neighborhood get going. Hosts are great to work with and with communication. We love this place.

Comfortable home not too far from downtown Pittsburgh

Comfortable home in an older neighborhood. Property manager was quick to reply when we texted to ask questions. Parking was on street, but we didn't have any trouble with having a spot in front of the house. Steep stairs up to the house. People with medical limitations may not be able to get up them. Not too far from downtown area. Just have to navigate the winding PIttsburgh streets. Thank goodness for GPS.

Stayed here while visitng family in the area. Was very comfortable and generally quiet. You can hear footsteps from upstairs unit but they respected quiet hours. Old house renovated and modernized. I loved sitting on the front porch in the morning with coffee. Very nice. Typical old Pgh home with character. Also neighborhood has character. I'm familiar with Carrick and comfortable there but others might not be. Where others see old houses and narrow streets and a slight "run down"ness, I see character and history and the things that make Pgh unique and great. Definitely want to stay here again.

College Move In weekend

The house is old with lots of character. Really nice kitchen that we did not utilize. The furniture is old and in need of repair or replacement or at least slip covers. But very charming. The rooms are spacious with the exception of the full bathroom. The half bath is twice the size of the full bath, which is odd. Particularly since I misinterpreted the description of 2 bathrooms to mean 2 full bathrooms for our party of 4. But the home served its purpose with pleasant surprise visits from a bunny and a deer.

Check in process was not ideal. Got an email a few days prior titled ‘keys to the property’. However, it did not contain the passcode so upon arrival, had to text with owner in order to gain access. Neighborhood is extremely run down with weeds growing up through the sidewalks and houses in disrepair. I wouldn’t bring my kids here again. House had the listed amenities but needs a thorough cleaning. Kitchen floor sticky, crumbs along the perimeter and stains on the wall near the garbage. Light fixtures dusty, etc. overall the place got us through but I was disappointed.

False advertising

This location was solely book based in the posted mile distance from Children’s Hospital. The site showed 4.6 miles from the exact address of the hospital. My friend’s 9 year old son had to have emergency brain surgery two weeks ago to remove a cancerous tumor. I was helping her by renting a place close to the hospital so she could have her younger son on the weekends since she lives an hour from the hospital hence why I picked the place completely based on distance. When she went there on Friday from the hospital it was 7.2 miles and 30 minutes away making it way to far in case of an emergency. She stayed the first night but because of the distance did not stay the second. I contacted the owner and the company explaining the situation.VRBO sent a email stating that they set the distance and it’s as the crow flies. The owner stated it was VRBO’s fault. I do understand that VRBO had the mileage misleading but the owner was hard to get in touch with to discuss and not helpful at all. On top of that they do not show you an actual picture with the shower curtain open and it’s a tiny shower basically in a sink basin. There were stains on the furniture and I definitely needed a good cleaning.

Perfect house for a group of friends spending the weekend in PGH. We made use of the large kitchen to cook. The location was convenient to the sights we wanted to see. The view from the porch was lovely.

Nice place to stay.

Myself and a couple of friends stayed here for a Steelers game. We didn't spend a lot of time here but it extremely easy to get to and the place is really clean and comfortable. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Convenient location for downtown. Worked out well for us to attend an event. The only negatives were that a used cleaning rag was left in the bathroom and that the shower is pretty narrow. Would be much better with a curved shower curtain Rod.
