"The hotel is immaculate and staff are helpful, friendly and professional. It is ideally located, just inside the main gate, easy walk 15-20 minutes from the train station one way and from the ferry terminal the other. It has an elevator!!!! Breakfast was very good. The rampart walk easily accessible as well. St Malo is a beautiful town and La Maison des Armateurs is a fantastic hotel. We will stay here again, without hesitation, on our next trip to St Malo."

"The best night of sleep on my trip so far! Clean hotel, great location, super friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed and excellent soundproofing for a good night’s rest. If you are driving, I highly recommend booking a parking spot in advance. It’s a little pricey but it’s so worth not having to worry about finding parking outside the walls. Navigating the intramurals is not as challenging as some make it sound."

"This was a last minute booking due to other travel disruption and was excellent value. Clean appartment with very good facilities although the sofa bed was average. "An immaculate room in a well maintained property. Unfortunately my room was at the rear of the property with no sea view but other than that I couldn't fault it. Just a one night stay so didn't use any of the facilities. They have parking but notably it was full on the night I was there. Might be a good idea to book this in advance as parking seemed to be in high demand in the area. Recommended."

"Of our multiple trips to Normandy and other spots in France, the Mercure stands out as the very best experience we have had. The main reason? The SUPERB team taking care of guest relations. We had a number of special requests (holding luggage on both ends of the trip, borrowing extra towels, using plates/wine glasses, etc.) and they handled every single one gracefully. Beyond that, they were unfailingly friendly and kind. To be blunt, we are not accustomed to this kind of service in France — what we received was more in line with a 5-star American hotel. In our experience, this only happens when there is both excellent recruiting, a great training approach, and good treatment of staff members. Congrats on this great result — in short, what a team! We will be back — both to Granville and to the Mercure. In fact, during the years ahead, we hope both will become regular places to spend time several times per year. That is a reflection of how special the team made our visit, and we are extremely grateful for the care. À bientôt !"
