"La Tigra was a delightful experience, but one must be prepared to be somewhat isolated. After all, this is an eco-lodge--not a resort or even a hotel. Personally, we loved the "tree fort" feel of our bungalow. Keep in mind that you are basically exposed except for thin tarps, see-through curtains and mosquito netting, so all the sounds of the rain on the tin roof and the forest are surrounding you. Nonetheless, we felt safe and slept soundly. Our bungalow had two light bulbs and one bathroom...

"This property was amazing once we found it. It is very hard to find as it is in a neighborhood behind houses, but don't let that discourage you. Im telling you how to get there so you can experience the magic. There is a small grass driveway between houses that leads into the jungle. There is a small wooden sign about knee height that marks the entrance on the right side of the driveway. We spent the night in a gorgeous treehouse with all the modern amentities and a great bed. "Came with All my kids and grandkids. 16 Total. The house was so good to have wonderful bedroom/bath suites for everyone. The house is beautiful and richly appointed to match the Costa Rica rich landscape and character. We used the Large deck continuously with lots of room for our large family playing cards and eating. The highlight was having the swimming pool next to the deck and the kids were so entertained in it. It is a 25+ minute drive to La Fortuna but we would definitely book again."

"The house and grounds are beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. It’s gorgeous looking over the lake. Pool was fantastic. Bedrooms and bathrooms are great. Check in easy and there was even a welcome basket with fruit. Would stay again. The only thing people need to know is that it is 45 min to La Fortuna even though it looks closer on the map. This didn’t bother us but if you are expecting to just pop in and out of town you need to plan accordingly from a time perspective."
