"We said before we arrived at the villa we would be happy if it was 50% as good as the photographs. What we didn’t expect was it was so much bigger, better, and more beautiful than we could possibly imagine. The gardens are absolutely stunning, the house and interior design are just perfect. The attention to detail and quality is exceptional. Everywhere you look offers a feast for the eyes. The pool provides the most amazing view at all times, although particularly spectacular at sunset. The entire property is designed with comfort, relaxation and appreciation of the beautiful surroundings. The house manager Tina was so very helpful, especially when we had a minor road accident and she came with her husband to give us a tow! We loved every moment of staying at this unique property and are planning a return visit next year. No hesitation in recommending HIGHL!"

"We really loved staying in this house. There is nothing fancy about how it is decorated. It is a simple cottage that contains all the basic facilities we wanted or needed; comfortable bed, shower, small cooker, clothes washing machine. The outdoors area however was excellent and, assuming the weather is OK, lifts this house above almost any other I have stayed in. The garden is spacious and attractive and the outdoor kitchen is exceptional. We loved the grill and oven, especially the oven; fresh wood fired bread with dinner every night. Like most 'casa rural' on La Palma, the house is quite a long way up a steep, single track road, but we never had any real problems with traffic and the difficulty of access has to be weighed against the beautiful, quiet location, far out of town. The owner was very friendly and helpful, but equally, once we were settled in, left us in peace. I have visited La Palma dozens of times, but the peace and charm of this little corner of the island was easily my most enjoyable."

"I had a great stay in Las Tricias, as areas go this is the most picturesque of the island. Very peaceful. People surrounding me in the neighbourhood are wonderful, the sunset and stars in the sky are fantastic. Host is relaxed and helpful. Good facilities to cook and spend evenings. Surrounding towns have good restaurants and histories. Experience is authentic and un-touristy. I recommend the weekend market and the trip up to the Observatories, and in the neighbourhood with the chickens and cats. "

"Buena Vista is gorgeous! The property is situated in gardens overlooking the Atlantic, catching the rising sun for breakfast and the setting sun highlighting the windmill in the west of the in the evening. The style is local and simple, with an imaginative decor . The hosts greeted us like old friends and arranged a birthday cake for my husband and horse riding up in the mountains. We enjoyed their company! The only negative comment was that the swimming pool was not functioning but we believe that this will be available again next year.
