Lairds Lodge was an amazing find. We loved it from the moment we arrived. Number one were the Staff they were more than fantastic! Attentive, helpful, smiley and fun. The Lodge is beautifully appointed, we loved the decor and the little touches. The meals were fabulous, well prepared and fresh. Delicious! The rooms were large comfortable and clean with a great outlook and a small patio to enjoy. The gardens were so well stocked and looked after, the whole gave a beautiful relaxing feel.. Thank you to Lesley and her team she was charming and very knowledgeable of the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

The staff make this place special. When you arrive and are greeted personally by each of the staff, you realise that this is going to be special. Lesley, Bani and the rest of the team make you feel very special during your stay and provide much help and advice about things to do, places to visit etc. The breakfasts were the best we’d had during the whole of our holiday and the dinners were equally as good. Fabulous place, love to stay here again.

Lovely charming lodge. Nice room, good breakfast. Disastrous unpaved access road (deep holes) which could easily be rectified. Recommend visiting nearby elephant reserve.

A beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. The breakfast was amazing and very luxurious. the only downside was it was a few minutes outside of town about halfway between Plettenberg and Knysna.

Beautiful lodge, lovely staff, delicious meals!

Laird's Lodge provided a wonderful retreat away from the more touristy section of Plettenberg Bay. The grounds were beautiful and the staff was lovely. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The food was delicious -- you will not leave hungry. The breakfasts were gorgeous and not to be missed!

Fantastic service and food

Stayed for 3 nights. Wonderful hotel with really excellent service. We ate here twice and the food was very good. Breakfast was a real treat every morning. Location is very good for both Kynsa and Plettenberg bay.

An excellent establishment. Rooms very well appointed and staff were most helpful and friendly. The one meal we had was superb and there are plenty of wines on offer from South Africa. I would definitely return.

Room allocated dark, cold & seemed damp. Bathroom/toilet facilities very basic and poor quality. No heating provided. Imaginative food but limited choice. Accommodation over-priced.

Spectacular!!!

Spectacular stay from start to finish. Tea and biscuits on arrival then a bottle of champagne and chocolates in our room. The interior design is wonderful and each room more interesting than the next. The food was out of this world dinner and breakfast were both perfect. A really brilliant place to stay!

Beautiful, luxurious country house

This is the second time that we have chosen to stay at Lairds Lodge. If anything the second visit was even better than the first. The hospitality of the staff and their willingness to make your stay a complete delight is outstanding. The accommodation is so comfortable, with room 11 providing an enormous amount of space for us. The lodge is close to many attractions and areas of interest and finally the food is amazing. Not any choice as the meal is determined beforehand, but you can choose the number of courses and each is a culinary feast.

A good recommendation

Treated ourselves with a stay here for our 49th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. The establishment decor is very interesting, the room was large and well furnished, complete with large candle in the bathroom, although this may have more to do with the recurring power cuts in SA, which were handled well. We also ate dinner there which was very elaborate. An alternative fish dish was provided for my non-meat-eating husband but this was not as good as the set meal. Service was excellent. We usually prefer to stay nearer to towns but with dinner available this wasn't a problem. Weren't able to enjoy the lovely pool area as the weather was stormy.

Outstanding

Could not have been better, we arrived late (on dark ) and had only booked half an hour earlier, our reservation had not come through, but this did not matter, we were tired from the day touring and was greeted with a much appreciated glass of Champagne . They took our diner order and we were ushered to a huge and tastefully decorated room, from that moment on our needs were met, from luggage being brought to our room and early morning coffee in the drawing room with TV as we were still suffering from jet lag (Australia )
