By the time I arrived at the Duncraig Castle the sun was in probably the worst position for photography. There was no chance to photograph the castle from the ground as there was too much sun glare everywhere, so I brought my drone up in the air and tried to get the sun on my back. It worked and here is my favourite result. This spectacular Highland castle was built in 1866 located in beautiful wooded grounds in a stunning coastal setting overlooking Plockton, Loch Carron and the Applecross Peninsula. It is just about to open again for the public after a long extensive renovation, so make sure you stop by if you in the area.

"Absolutely loved everything about Kintail Lodge ! Our room was literally brand new with so many amenities, extremely comfortable with unbeatable view of the loch. We had drinks & dinner at the lodge and enjoyed amazing food and drinks with great service. The next morning walked to Wee Bun house and our group bought almost every irresistible sweet and coffees, just wonderful! Highly recommend!!"

"We knew it wasn’t going to be a fancy place, but was pleasantly surprised to find more room than I imagined. Nice size living room with Tv and lots of DVDs to choose from. Were able to make food in the kitchen. Two separate bedrooms for us two couples. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Friendly host. We were pleased to find an affordable place on Skye when all else was booked. "

"Rural and fabulous. Small town. Access to "major" highways. A few local restaurants and a grocery store. It's a great home base or a great place to stay for a few days. It's right on the ocean and a cool dock with some fishing (lobster?) boats. Loved it."

"Andrea & Rob were the perfect hosts and made our stay very comfortable. Sleepy Hollow was decorated to a high standard and positioned in a great area, very close to Eilean Donan castle which is stunning. Well worth a visit. Pizza Joe's & Manuela Wee Bakery was a 2 minute walk away and the food was delicious. "I had an excellent stay at the Sligachan Hotel. The hotel is steps away from breathtaking scenery for walking or hiking and a quick bus/car ride to Portree for shopping and dinner. Martin, the manager, was so helpful and kind. He drove my friend and I from Portree to our train because the bus schedule that day was not aligning well with our train schedule and morning activities. He also gave us great tips on the best things to do on the Isle of Skye and made sure that all of the guests were enjoying their stay. The breakfast was high quality - I loved the smoked salmon and eggs and the fresh fruits and yogurts. The receptionists were always friendly and helpful whenever we had any questions. I would recommend the Sligachan hotel to anyone who wants a comfortable stay right near the Cuillian Mountains and a quick commute to Portree."
