"We were the only guests at the chateau. The property is beautiful and the owner very hospitable and welcoming. There are 4 peacocks that roam the chateau grounds which are beautiful. In the morning the owner presented us with a gorgeous breakfast in his chateau dining room which was very elegant. All considered, we would love to stay at Chateau de Chantore again. 5 stars."

"My only regret is that we didn't plan a longer stay! This Chateau and the grounds are stunning. The resident manager, Pascale, was delightful, helpful and it was so pleasant to chat with her during our stay. She recommended a lovely restaurant in a nearby town and arranged reservations for us on a busy Friday night. Made to order breakfast, extensive honor bar with drinks and snacks, beautiful suite and common areas and very reasonable pricing; you can't go wrong with Chateau La Remetiere!"

The apartment was lovely with a little balcony, kitchen, sitting area and bathroom. It was very well lit, plenty of windows and well heated. Do be aware there was no hand soap provided. "It is important to check in at reception up the stairs near the restaurant...[the details for check-in should include this.] before you get to the hotel otherwise you will be doing some walking. Some of the rooms are beautifully placed along some of the cobblestone walks, be sure to know where you are going because the walk with luggage can be a little tiring especially after walking from the shuttles. The accessible scenery, abbey and shops, and area around the room, sunsets and sunrises, make it all worth it. "
