"10 stars! It was so wonderful to be nestled in this woodland retreat as the forest provided relief from the relentless Heat Wave over 4th of July (250th!) weekend. Also a peaceful escape as it sits fairly far away from the highway and retail areas. The stairs are long, but doable if you aren't carrying much. Colleen is best hostess ever! No, seriously, she IS the best out of ALL my travel stays. Sweet touches and treats everywhere. Definitely coming back here."

"Absolutely recommend the sunset surf shack for a little getaway in OBX. The hosts Amber and Brett have a lovely home and were great with communication and any recommendations that you may need help with during your stay. Local to the beach and with what they offer in allowing use of the bikes for the path or if you want to take a paddle out in the bay they are very kind to offer that. Highly recommend staying again if we get the chance. Thank you again Amber and Brett for having us with you guys...

"Lorna was an excellent host! She really made our honeymoon stay extra special! The place was the perfect size for my wife and I and was very cozy. She went above and beyond, even folding and sorting our laundry! If you are looking for a place to stay in the OBX, we couldn’t recommend this place enough!"

"Cozy hideaway in the perfect location. Easy drive or walk to beaches and great restaurants."

"It was ok. You should probably mention the small house is attached to large house. A couple things weren’t working. The outdoor shower. The toilet seat was broken. Overall with it."

"Verrrry clean, cold a/c, beautiful decor, small yet great for a quick escape. Our host was awesome, so accommodating, friendly. Its on a golf community so very quiet. "

"The apartment was incredibly clean and tastefully furnished. The kitchen was well-stocked. There were plenty of towels and hot water. The deck is huge, although "Ocean views from deck" is slightly misleading - I could see the ocean on the horizon through a gap in the trees only when standing. The apartment is about a mile from the beach, where we found convenient beach access with abundant parking. Our host, Artim, did a great job communicating with us before, during, and after our trip. He...

"Perfect get away for a few days, host is very good at responding and the sweetest. Place is cute and cozy and very clean! Would recommend! Great price too!"

"Beautiful place,it has everything you could need."

"The property was amazing. The location was also great. I will definitely come to stay here again."

"The property is beautiful. The host have thought of everything a visitor would need…. beach chairs, beach toys, white noise machines, night lights and the list goes on. I really appreciated their thoughtfulness. The location is perfect! Everything you can think of wanting/needing was no more than a 5min drive away. The host are responsive and kind. We have this marked as a favorite and plan to stay again."

"This property is at a great and convenient location for food, shopping, and sightseeing. Wonderful and relaxing views from bother the screened porch and front porch. The path to the beach for Saltaire guests was just across the road,to the left of the brown house. Traffic on the road was totally manageable to cross. The pool was a nice option to have and never crowded. Plenty of pool toys & floats present. The layout was cozy, and worked fine for 3 of us. The rooms are interconnected, so in...

"Overall great property. Getting across the highway takes some time but it’s so worth it!!!!"

"Amazing communication with the owner. Awesome spot"

"House was clean and location was amazing! There is a lifeguard at the beach entry. Amenities were good. Not many larger dishes to cook and shower very small. Outdoor shower made it nice to rinse off when coming off the beach. Would be great if the outdoor shower was enclosed to give another viable shower."

"Host was super responsive and friendly, easy check-in and great value. The snacks and waters were a nice touch."

"The place was very nicely decorated and clean. The view was peaceful and the neighborhood quiet. We had a very relaxing time on our girls’ trip. The host communicated within a great timeframe and we had all the info we needed. We didn’t incur any problems while there, but if we had, I feel it would have been taken care of based upon our experience. It’s very convenient to a grocery store and mini golf. The beach is not far, but does require crossing a highway, so we wouldn’t walk. There are...
