"Some preliminary advice - do not completely rely on auto or mobile GPS in Sicily; we had a hard time finding San Ambrogio using the car's GPS. Worked well elsewhere in Italy during our 30 day sojourn.Once at the villa: you can't beat the view!It's a little cozy; kitchen is small even for guests who don't plan to cook much, and the loft has a double bed but low roof ceiling and a minimal but attractive steel and glass tread stairway leading to it.We visited during cool weather. The main level ventilation worked very well in the two bedrooms; did not see a ventilator in the main/kitchen area, just a space heater, so can't say what it would be like in summer.Kitchen could use some better countertop appliances and utensils. Suggested these to Stefano, and he was eager to hear it; he said if tenants don't tell him these things, he cannot know it because he doesn't live there.Laundry is in an outbuilding; washer only, drying rack available.Host Stefano is a wonderful, humble, and sincere person, and yet very engaging. We are seriously considering a return in 2027.P.S. - the donkey showed up one day in the olive grove on the adjacent property. He/she was looking for attention, so we bought an apple at Conad. But the donkey didn't do an encore! We were disappointed, but we left the apple for him/her (didn't get close enough to make that determination)."

"Property was very nice. An old villa. Pool was beautiful but too cool to use. Is located near a road and train station. Not terribly noisy, just didn’t know. Not many supplies stocked there. Had some a/c problems which didn’t get fixed and hot water which did"

"We had a brilliant stay at this villa, tucked away in the Sicilian hills, with wide sea views from the mountainside. It’s quiet, private, and has the feel of a low-key luxury retreat — clearly the result of a lot of care and planning. One bit of advice: hire a small car. We didn’t, and the narrow roads made things unnecessarily awkward. The house sits on a large plot and feels properly secluded. The outdoor areas are cleverly laid out — you can always find sun or shade without moving furniture around. The landscaping is intricate and beautiful, and everything is arranged to make the most of the sea view. The pool is on a separate level from the house, gets full sun, is very well maintained, and was a real highlight. The water stayed at a great temperature, and the setup is ideal whether you want to swim, read, or sunbathe. There’s a small indoor kitchen and fridge/freezer, but most of the living happens in the large outdoor dining area with a full kitchen. Everything is well thought out — from sharp knives to all the useful bits you actually need. We stocked up once and didn’t need to leave for days. The host was excellent — friendly and thoughtful, filled up the fridge before we arrived, and then left us completely to ourselves. No aircon, which we were unsure about, but it wasn’t an issue. Thick stone walls, high ceilings, fans, and a sea breeze kept it comfortable. Very easy to switch off here. We'd definitely return — with a smaller car."

"We are on a 2 week Europe vacation. This was exciting what we needed. Quite/ peaceful/ a bit of a break. Lunch and dinner were great and the same price if we were to eat in town. Breakfast was great had everything and more The drive is nerve racking but better then the almafi coast!!! Lol. Really a place to relax after a busy travelling week! "
