"We really enjoyed our return to the Alpaca Barnhaus, a family favorite. Mickey and Evelyn were wonderfully welcoming, and let us feed the alpacas on our first day. The house was, as always, a cozy base camp for various adventures around the Jemez Mountains. The cool mountain air, the pines, and the aspens all made for a blissful atmosphere. We plan to return next summer!"

"This property surpassed our expectations. It is unique like no other property in which we have stayed. The views are magnificent. The house is comfortable and well appointed. An artist built and furnished the house and her spirit of whimsy is apparent. Quiet and secluded but still close to the village, fishing and hiking.Everything you need is provided for preparing meals in an area where dining out is limited. Come with your meals planned and groceries for your stay. There is one tavern in Jemez and one breakfast coffee shop. Jemez is a special and sacred place. It is a place to enjoy and respect nature, history and the passage of time. "

"My husband and I stayed for 2 wonderful nights in this lovely 2-story adobe home located near the end of a somewhat rutted road stretching into the New Mexican desert, nearly equidistant from Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Nestled into a low ridge, this rental's interior and architectural design is a work of art from the ground floor’s large windows that frame gorgeous views in the entry hall (open to the living and dining spaces and kitchen); to the rugs, lamps, and wall art placed throughout the house; to the gently curving staircase leading up to the second floor (which features beautiful vintage floorboards and wood-patterned ceilings); to the sandstone vanities and stone-tiled showers in both bathrooms; to both bedroom’s the private balconies containing seating and tables...where we watched the sunset each night, speechless at the beauty of the hills that surround this home. The beds were Goldilocks perfect; all linens provided were spotless and comfortable. The kitchen seemed well equipped, though we only ate breakfast there. A laundry room off the kitchen held a large washer and dryer, which we did not use. Communication with the manager was simple and easy. Of the 8 places we rented during our trip to the Southwest, our stay at this home in San Ysidro was the most spectacular. This rental is breathtaking, we can’t recommend it more highly."

"Very nice home surrounded by gorgeous Ponderosa. Very quiet, relaxing and comfortable. The wrap around deck is great to hang out on when not hiking numerous fantastic hiking trails nearby. We enjoyed our stay very much."

"The scenery was beautiful. The wifi didn't work and we had no service but we didn't mind cause we enjoyed getting away not having to worry about anything. The beds were not the best hard to sleep on. The kitchen was perfect for being able to cook. The bathrooms were also nice Overall we enjoyed our stay; the owners were super friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay again. "

"Well maintained, clean, cozy, quiet, and a short drive to town. The river runs just behind a block fence in the backyard. The river can be heard while sitting on the elevated back deck. This property is a great place to stay!"
