Just perfect, nice, and relaxing

I think I've seen different people at the reception every time I went to this hotel, but each and every one is just as nice and helpful. The included breakfast and dinner are also great. So many different things to choose from and all delicious. I love going here.

Perfect location, good parking

It's a very nice hotel. Close the the city centre. I always live the breakfast. I usually go on national holidays, in which case they don't serve evening food. The rooms are basic, but spacious enough with large windows overlooking the city. I love coming back here. They have lots of different staff, and they've all been very friendly.

Always perfect and well organised

A quick and friendly check-in. The room was spotless. I had not counted on a free evening meal, but it was very good. Breakfast in the morning had a lot of different things, including Norwegian options. Very nice!

Served an evening meal as part of room rate. No complaints as the food was good. Best to get down early as the heat lamps don't keep the food as warm as I like. However it was still good. Only thing missing was hot chocolate. :-)

We stayed one night and had opted for a Premium room. The hotel has a nice lobby with a Mid Century vibe (nice set of vintage Fritz Hansen chairs). Staff was welcoming and check in was easy as we had prepaid. Our corner room was the largest we had during our trip to Norway. We also were excited that it had a bathtub! The hotel has an interesting history. There was a great breakfast buffet and surprisingly, a buffet dinner was also included. It seemed the hotel was housing some workers with a local factory and breakfast and dinner was part of the “deal”. So all the guests benefited. We were first worried about noise, but there was no issues as they were up early. Porsgrunn is a nice town on a river, with an interesting history as the center of Norwegian porcelain production. It is also the base for people interested in renting boats to explore the river and canals. We found it a surprise and glad we spent some time there.

Håper på bedre rom ved neste besøk, Da vi følte vi ble stuet vekk i arbeidsfløyen i et rom med sprekk i vindu og trekkfulle vindu og ovner som bare skrudde seg ned til 17 grader når det var minus grader ute og lite varmtvann å få fra vasken på badet. Hyggelig personell. Kveldsmaten på torsdag kunne vært bedre, men ellers ok.

Alt var bra, men jeg lurer på om jeg fikk i meg gluten på oppholdet. Jeg har cøliaki, og jeg spiste kveldsmåltid og frokost. Har hatt mye magetrøbbel etter oppholdet. men det kan ha vært en annen kilde, da vi var på et arrangement på Ælvespeilet.
