While the room was clean, it's really dated and shabby. There is no coffee maker in room, no hair dryer, only 1 small trash can for entire room, there is no table and chairs so you can eat in your room. The soap bars are of the cheapest kind, hardly lathered at all...you do not have a beach/water view, it faces a field. My boyfriend went to check in area to get us two cups of coffee at 7am, and the area was "closed" therefore we didn't get any coffee until 8am... the property is quiet, and we did appreciate that. Staff was friendly upon check in, and it was quick. We did appreciate that ferry ran quickly, we hardly ever had a wait, but next time we will stay in Galveston so that its easier to get to attractions, eating and shopping.

We enjoyed are stay for the weekend at the beach. The front desk employees were nice. Pros: The room is spacious for my husband in a wheelchair. The beds were comfortable even the bunk beds for the kids. The employees were very attentive on making sure the area was clean. They also provide a black rubber ramp for in front of the hotel room for wheelchair access. The fan attached to the wall helped us sleep comfortably. Cons: The door to access the toilet and bath/shower area is not wheelchair accessible. He was able to hop to the toliet and bathtub. The only problem was there was only one STEEP ramp for my husband to access the building. There was no ramp for the pool area eventhough they had a lift to help people with disabilites into the pool. My husband had to hop up the steps on one leg and I had to move his chair to the top. Our AC and refrigerator also leaked inside the room so we used towels.

Look, the building is old and does need more attention and maintenance. The room we had was very clean and had everything needed. Drapes need attention but they did the job. Let’s talk about the mattress…….cheap and was terrible and sheets did not fit and would not stay on the thin mattress. Please invest in a good mattress and sheets, that would make a world of difference in everyone’s opinion of this place. It would help if you provided a coffee pot in the rooms so us “early birds” don’t have to wait until 8 am to get a cup of coffee.
