"Checked into the room(the best part of the experience) and everything went downhill. The location is terrible. Very sketchy street that forces you to park in the garage because of car break in’s (you see the glass on the street near the curb). Not to mention when checking in, a guy was cleaning the broken glass out of his passenger seat. The room was clean but it looked like it’s been rented a million times and just worn down. Should’ve taken pictures. The furniture was worn. Night tables needed...

"The hotel is I. A great location. It’s old. Needs some serious remodeling IMO. Electrical outlets were not functioning well. Rooms are small. Not modern at all. But the staff could not have been nicer. And again..location. No real amenities to speak of."

"I stayed across the street from the San Carlos for several visits, but decided to try the San Carlos this trip and it was a good choice. Upgraded 2 queen bed room to a suite without asking. Suite was clean and well maintained. Daughter used the gym with no complaints. I love the east midtown location."
