The home is in a great location with pool and other activities. It’s in a very short proximity to walk down to the beach or drive over to the state park. We had some issues arise, but the host was able to resolve them fairly.

This condo is a great beach vacation spot. It is very close to the beach and the outdoor hose/shower made cleaning up extremely helpful. Especially with our dog.

Absolutely terrific stay! The T.V.'s were an awesome size and so much appreciated, the flooring was VERY nice, balconies were heavenly (!!!) and location was just perfect!!!! Perfect! We will be back, for sure! Location, location, location~ 10 thumbs up!!!!! Miss it SO much!

The check in process was easy and the listing was as advertised. The carpet through the house is dirty and damaged. It makes one not want to take their shoes off inside, as the carpet seems worse than what may be on your shoes. The grill on the porch also needs replacing. The heat is hard to regulate and will burn your food quickly if you don't keep an eye on it. Other than that the house is lovely. Lots of space and items you can use for the beach. Large fridge, comfy beds. Short walk to the beach.

Loved the location! Condo had everything we needed. Only drawback was the stairs for my husband he had back surgery and knee replacement last year. With 2 flights of stairs it was hard at times. But it’s view was easy on the eyes. Pool and tennis courts were wonderful. Our beds were very comfortable. It’s a good place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. Our dog struggled with the stairs, but he is getting older. The front door lock didn’t always work right, but it could be user error on our part. Skully’s is fantastic for dinner. They offer a drink on the porch and then enjoy your food there or take it home. We will be back.

Cape San Blas is a terrific place to vacation, especially if you have a dog that likes strolling on the beach. We were very happy with the VRBO and would recommend it. It was really nice to have lots of beach chairs and equipment available. Tennis right across the street for tennis players. The only hick-up was that the living room TV didn't work, but sunsets make for better viewing!

Bunk bed bottom bed fell to floor while kid was sleeping. Concern for integrity of top bunk kids noticed crack on our first day. Outside shower not hooked up. Lock on front door would work sometimes. We used the key. Trash can lid missing. Otherwise I loved the view from this place. My family had a wonderful time.

Beware this place has black mold in the vents. This was communicated to have cleaned. By the end of the week, two of us were congested with headaches. Also the carpet is dirty with animal stains. On the other hand, this place has a great location, if they can get it cleaned up.

This place is rough, we checked in and the first thing you see is torn and missing carpet. During our 3 day stay we had to use every towel and bucket that could carry water with to contain the roof leaks.. called property manager they refused to do a thing said let me refund you. Not an offer for help nobody came to clean and guess what no refund came. Run This place is DIRTY AND WORN OUT, VERY SMALL AND OUTDATED

The unit was fine and the management group was responsive; however, we lost water during our stay. It turns out the owner had not paid the bill! The management group tried to assist, but the owner did not get back to them quickly. We finally got the water back on - thanks to water company! We understand things will break at times, but not paying a bill is completely unacceptable. We should be able to trust the unit will have utilities during our entire stay! And, after all of this, we did not receive any type of apology from the owner! Very, very disappointing!

The property is in fair shape. There are some repairs that need to be done as well as updates. There was moisture dripping from carport ceiling from the A/C unit. I suspect the drain line plugged because there was no moisture draining out of the drain line. The unit had a musty odor upon arrival, after placing Air fresheners in every room it was okay. The floor register vents upstairs in the bathroom are all rusted up and need replaced. The carpet is in terrible shape, with dirty spots that won't come clean and pieces of carpet missing in downstairs front entryway, that have been that way since the bad storm 4 years ago. There were structural deck boards that have been out of place since storm, these joist boards actually help support the upper deck, and are not even attached to the house anymore. We've stayed in all 4 units in that section of the complex over the last 12 years. Great place to stay. This unit was sufficient for our stay, but not up to the standards we've become accustomed to at Barrier Dunes.

Door codes were wrong delaying access to unit. Air conditioner not working. Kitchen sink was clogged. Someone stole our beach bag with our work phones inside. Called the police on the land line. No statement was taken or id’s checked when officer arrived. Officer walked down to the beach where we were sitting and told us to go back to our rental and “check the carport and around the premises” and “there are a lot of Karen’s in the community.” When we got back to our rental, low and behold, there was our bag with contents inside sitting by the front door. When we got inside the rental we noticed our luggage was riffled through and debit cards were taken. Not sure if it was who took our beach bag or if it was the workers working on the air conditioning and plumbing earlier that day. One positive thing was the communication with the property manager was great! Don’t be deceived thinking just because it’s a gated community that you’re safe!!! Needless to say, we’re never staying here again.

We really had a fantastic stay at BlueStar. The house was perfect for our family. The way it is set up made us feel like we were in our own place instead of at a hotel. The kids could be free and you can't even hear your neighbors or the other people around. The beach was beautiful and just steps from the front door. There were two pools to choose from as well. And everything we needed was found inside the unit. Towels, pots and pans, etc, we felt right at home. One thing I wanted to say that I didn't find anyone discuss on the reviews... I was a little worried about this being a dog friendly place. My son has asthma and can be triggered by dog hair. And I worried that the whole resort would be "doggy" (hairy, scratched up, etc). Well if you didn't know it was dog friendly from reading reviews you would never know a dog had ever been there. The entire place was immaculate. Not a hair anywhere! And we did see dogs with other families, but again.. everything was super clean and there was no poop to be seen even on the grounds. Before anyone gets upset, I love dogs. I have three of my own. I'm just trying to express to everyone that even if you aren't a dog owner this was still a perfect place! We could have stayed forever, and can't wait to go back. The beach was just beautiful! And if you're looking for something else to do.. drive right down the street to the state park! You can access the bay side from there and the snorkeling was fantastic! We saw so many fish, sand dollars, crabs, sting rays, and so much more. Crystal clear water and so much fun. My kids were amazed. I can't say enough about this place, and I would recommend it to everyone I know. Oh, and everyone we met (locals) at the grocery stores and ice cream shops were wonderful!

Check in and communication was effective. Location and view was great. Contract required to finalize booking. Carpets on stairs and main bedroom needs replacement. Bathroom fittings are outdated and in need of maintenence. Kitchen had no wash cloth/spunge to wipe surfaces. Grill was very dirty and had no way to clean nor tongs for grilling. Cupboards untidy and utensils, pots & pans scattered across all over. the kitchen. Porch furniture in dire need of cleaning. Dirty, full ashtray on porch..

Where do we begin? After a 10 hour drive along with my 92 year old mother and our dog, we were met with immediate disgust and dismay upon opening the door. The first thing that we saw was that the carpet at the door had a hole the size of a softball obviously chewed by a dog. As this is a "dog friendly" unit (with a fee), we found that every square foot of carpet in the unit was stained with dog pee and disgusting to walk on. It was so badly worn and stained, it should have been replaced (with LVP) years ago. The air return under the bar in the living room looked as though it had never been cleaned with a half inch of dog hair and dust covering it. There was still trash in some of the cans in the bathrooms. The oven had obviously not been cleaned in ages as it was filthy. None of the pots or pans had been scrubbed and were nasty. The towels were all tattered and stained, not even worthy of being used for rags. All of the surfaces in the entire unit had a sticky film and desperately needed cleaning and paint, at the least. The refrigerator seal was loose and in need of repair or replacement. And the screen door to the deck was torn and the sliding doors were broken and impossible to open and close. Broken dining chairs, badly worn and uncomfortable couch, and on and on. Renters RUN!!!"

We love CSB and Barrier Dunes. Repeat visitor for years. This is the 1st VRBO disappointment. Unit wasn't as represented. 1st impression, torn stained carpet at entrance, then saw the main room furniture was pushed aside against the wall, not in place so you could use the dining table. Perhaps cleaners didn't finish? Bedding was clean, soft and floor clean other than worn and stained. But it was not clean. Dirt on light plates, build up of lint/hair on air intake, some decor was encrusted with heavy layer of dust. Frig door seal coming off. Microwave door cracked in 2 places. Kitchen light kept flashing so we kept it off. Unit supposed to have a hair dryer which was missing. Outdoor shower was not even hooked up to water so nonfunctional. Neighbor shower was very nice and a note saying for their unit ONLY so that has been nonfunctional for some time. The keypad would not function 90% of the time. Fortunately a key was there so we could lock the unit when we came and went. Most of the negative comments in previous reviews have not been fixed despite the property manager telling me they were new issues and surprised to hear about them. The cleaner did the bare minimum cleaning. There is clearly a lack of maintenance and no attention to detail. I realize its a rental but I would not recommend this unit. Also, the Barrier Dunes pool is closed. Unsure of how long and that's beyond control of the property manager but letting future renters know.

Cons - dead bird on deck, dead roach in laundry room, sink in master bath did not drain, no water pressure in master bath shower, extremely squeaky master bed frame, dirty looking carpet, heated pool was not heated. Pros- short walk to the beach, view of the Gulf, easy checkin/check out Ok for a short stay, but needs to have some maintenance and issues fixed.

Loved the location of this condo…great views of the gulf and proximity to the beach and pool. There was a slight miscommunication of check in time and it was not cleaned …shout out to management company for making sure it was done immediately. As others have mentioned, the carpet on the steps and master are old and NEED to be replaced. It was advertised that there are hair dryers and there were none…had to air dry ..not the worse thing …make sure you brings yours …but for me the worse thing was the master bed squeaked …BAD like when you walked into the room without even touching it …it squeaked …the bed itself was decent comfort wise ..not sure if the squeaking was from the frame or the box spring …but it was bad…in my opinion…NOT acceptable. My husband and I were constantly waking each other up. I feel that a new metal bed frame is not a budget breaker and should have been replace long ago. We had a lovely time but condo needs a little loving . Thanks for the memories
