Nice Stay, Tough Ending

The apartment was as advertised: light and bright and nicely decorated. And the lake and surrounding mountains are picturesque. But be careful. The owner had explained about getting a ticket at the gate to drive into the marina, and using our key to activate the gate. But if you leave a car inside overnight without using the key (which we did by mistake) it can cost 36 Swiss francs. When we left, we reported two broken glasses, one cracked in the dishwasher. The owner’s rep Magdalena inspected the apartment and returned our security deposit but charged18 Swiss francs for the two glasses. Those are pretty expensive glasses. I wrote the owner about this as well as a couple cigarette butts in the floorboards outside the main door, some black spots in one of the showers and -- yikes! -- no corkscrew. The owner now says the charge was “for ... soap in the toilet.” I have no idea what that means. We have rented through VRBO before and have never damaged a thing.

Die Wohnung ist zweckmässig, lässt aber in gewissen Belangen zu Wünschen übrig: Wasserdruck zu tief. Es kann jeweils nur eine von beiden Duschen benutzt werden. Der Backofen heizt ungleichmässig, die Gitterauflage kann rausfallen und das Licht funktioniert nicht. Diverse Stühle sind defekt.

A superb location for our trip to Lausanne 🇨🇭

We rented the property for our trip to Lausanne because we had a family and didn't want multiple hotel rooms in the city. Vi var en familie på 9: besteforeldre, tanter/onkel + småbarnsfamilie med to barn (1 og nesten 4 år gamle). Vi stortrivdes i leiligheten som hadde kanal/kaiområde både på inngangssida og oppholdsida - måtte riktignok passe godt på de små i kaiområdet, men med så mange voksne og det at barna sin alder gjør at dei uansett ikkje kan gå uten tilsyn, gjekk det greit for oss. Leiligheten hadde 4 soverom (1 med hems), 2 bad og 1 separat WC i tillegg til 5 balkongar! Velutstyrt på alle vis, med myggnetting for alle vindu og verandadører. Einaste at altandøra fra stua var vanskelig å åpne og lukke, men det blei ordna opp i i løpet av noen timar. Fantastisk beliggenhet med sjøen så nær med båtruter til byane i nærheten, fjella som kunne nås til fots eller ved tog, stort badeland, opplevelsespark med små tog gjennom et Sveits i miniatyr, gratis sykkelutleie, badestrand, m.m.
