"Overall, we were very happy with the accommodations and the cottage. It was neat, clean, and in good order. We enjoyed the labeling of all the items and locations, the cozy 1970s vibe, and the location of our park destination. We also enjoyed our conversation with the owners of the working ranch. The mini museum on the property had a lot of history and cool artifacts. We loved it!"

"Property does 90% of the work, add in a great group of friends and this trip will be incredible. Beautiful Mountain views, hikes nearby, delicious catering options from Cave Creek Sandwich shop. Glen is a great host and the whole property was ready for our stay. This is the second bachelor weekend we have done here, and it does not disappoint."

"Wonderful location allowing us to bird State Line Rd on our trips in and out of Portal while also providing dark skies to enjoy the stars at night. The house was lovely and roomie. We prepared our nightly meals in the large kitchen, relaxed in the comfy living room and bird watched from the dining room table and kitchen window. FYI - they aren't kidding in their description about the lack of groceries available locally ... come well stocked with your food needs for the length of stay or you will need to take out a small loan to buy the basics 😳 (this applies not just to them but anywhere you stay in the area - for good reason - food is having to be transported a good distance for convenience, so be prepared). "My friend and I came to the area for birding in the Chiricahuas. We stayed at valley vista and it was a perfect spot for everything we wanted to do during our stay. Would definitely recommend it."

"After doing a lot of searching and reading we selected this property largely because of the number of good reviews. They were not wrong. This is a very special place that was completely built by the hosts. Everything you need for your stay other than food and clothes are provided should you choose to use them. The kitchen is well stocked with spices, coffee, condiments, and all of the equipment you might need to prepare your meals. Welcoming you is a bottle of local wine, a loaf of banana bread and some fresh eggs. The house is nicely laid out with plenty of space. Three bedrooms and two baths. Especially nice are the very large front and back yard patio spaces where we enjoyed coffee in the morning and a cocktail at night while we watched the wildlife. Deer and turkeys were the most frequent visitors. We also enjoyed interacting with the rescue horses on the property. It is super quiet and really dark at night. You'll see more stars than you can imagine. Cell service here is poor at best but the Wi-Fi is strong and we had no trouble communicating with our computer, phones and using the TV's in the living room and bedroom. (we didn't use the TV's much because it's so delightful outside) The hosts live a short distance away on the same property. They are a wonderful couple who will do anything to make your visit pleasant. Hopefully you will get a chance to chat with them as they have amazing backgrounds. We felt like we were visiting old friends. Can't wait to go back!"
