"We stayed in late October during an area wide shut down due to a mass shooting in Lewiston the evening after we arrived. We were happy to have been at such a beautiful location with plenty of space to “shelter in place” as opposed to a hotel room. It was a very peaceful setting when the world around us was in chaos. Thankfully we had picked up groceries on our way in. We purchased live lobster when stores re-opened 2 days later & had all the necessary pans to cook it & tools to eat it. The house...

The back half was built in 1753 and the front half in the 1780, yet this historic home had all the conveniences of the modern world: snug windows, heated bathroom floor, and easy to control heatng. The B&B was originally the home of the great-uncle of Ralph Waldo Emerson. One of our favorite times were breakfast. Amelia, our hostess, is a great cook and so much fun to be around.
