"My girlfriends & I planned a vacation to Portland & randomly chose the Royal Sonesta for the quirky decor. We had no idea that we were in for such a special & beautiful vacation. Everything was truly luxurious & magical. Staying there was an experience. Fredrick, Austin & Dustin at the front desk were always helpful & friendly with all of our special requests. We chose 3 King Premiere Suites, 2 of which were adjoining, that featured a massive bathroom, full living room with a couch, coffee table, 2 chairs & a table & our bedroom with French doors off to the side. We utilized all of the space in all of rooms many times. When we were tired from a day of walking through downtown & museums, we got takeout & ate together in one of our rooms. We had a movie night in one of the rooms another night. 2 of our rooms didn’t come with a coffee maker, but upon request, a Keurig was delivered to each room with real cream & dark roast coffee. The bathroom was well appointed with incredible toiletries, a hair dryer, and loads of fluffy, fresh towels. The beds were cozy with fantastic pillows. Our first night we dined at Finch in the hotel lobby with Erick & enjoyed tee many delicious martoonies since we didn’t have to drive. The lavender lemon drop & the mojito were fantastic. We enjoyed our trip so thoroughly that we decided to make it an annual occasion at this very hotel & extend our vacation next visit. We can’t thank the staff or Sonesta enough for such a truly magnificent holiday."

Sentinel Hotel

"We've stayed at Sentential several times over the years and never tire of the stately architecture and level of original construction quality. Service is always good to excellent, though few will appreciate the additional $65 per day cost associated with valet parking (the nearest public parking lot is subject to frequent break-ins) or the $29 per day charge for 'Guest Amenity Fee'. (FYI: On our last visit, the cost of valet parking for three days on the street outside the hotel totaled $295.95)."

"It’s a downtown hotel. The check in is with cars parallel parked on the city street, which a bit chaotic at a busy time. The staff were friendly enough. The rooms are average, we had basic 2Q rooms. For all the rooms we had, the AC was not particularly cool. The front staff recommended parking accommodations for the Portland Aeriel lift and that worked perfectly. We enjoyed our stay. No complimentary breakfast."
