Lovely year round vacation home on the Narragansett Bay, located in quaint Portsmouth on Aquidneck Island. This home offers wonderful, ever changing, views of the bay; Mt. Hope Bridge, Bristol Harbor, Hog Island Lighthouse and Panoramic Sunsets. With this nautical styled house, get the feeling of being lodged in the Captain’s quarters without having to leave the shore. This home offers the luxury of a Chef’s kitchen; 36” Wolf Range, fully equipped with large pots to boil your lobster or a New England clam boil. The home includes a steam shower and king - Sleep Number bed in the Master Loft. There is radiant heat in main level and both bathrooms, a queen bed on the main level bedroom, central vacuum, washer/dryer, beverage cooler, Direct TV and wireless internet.

The home is located on the west shore between Carnegie’s Private Golf Course and the Newport Beach Club. Minutes away from several public golf courses, Newport, charming town of Bristol, Newport International Polo Series, Greenvale Vineyard, Roger William University, Green Topiary Gardens, Carnegie Abby School. 35 miles to PVD Airport, 65 miles to Boston Airport, and an hour to Cape Cod or Mystic Sea Port Museum, CT.

Paradise

We love it so much here. The hosts are wonderful and always helpful. If peace, quiet, and beauty are what you're looking for in a vacation home, this is it. It's also strategically located within easy driving distance of Newport, Bristol, Warren and many other fun places, as well as nature reserves, beaches, etc. There are a couple of great grocery stores nearby as well. We are already planning our next stay.

Perfect Hosts & Home!

We cannot say enough about our stay in Portsmouth. The house had everything we needed and more— it was so clean and spotless with the best views imaginable. Another wonderful stay at the Shore House

This is a beautiful home directly on Narragansett Bay. You feel like you are on a ship. Fabulous sunsets, clamming and swimming. This was our eighth straight summer visit. God willing we will be back next year for season nine. Jan Hanks is a caring hostess and can’t do enough for you.

Absolutely perfect

The pictures don’t do this properly justice! The views are stunning from every room, and the architecture and design of this home is superb. Jan has thought of everything and the attention to details was appreciated. We had the good fortune to see fireworks and many beautiful sunsets. I would highly recommend this property and hope to return some day.

The Shore House-Stunning!

Year after year we return to this property. It is on a prime piece of real estate, with quiet views of the bay, lighthouse, fishing boats, birds, wildlife, the Mount Hope Bridge, and Hog Island in the distance! The house has absolutely anything you would need. The location is a short driving distance to many attractions, perfect for day trips! We are always sorry to leave! Jan does a phenomenal job maintaining the best accommodations in the area! LOVE THIS HOUSE!

So Close Yet So Far Away

We live near by and yet staying here felt like we were REALLY on vacation. The house is so well constructed that the waves and wind never got in. Being on the water is exciting like staying in a tree house and on a boat combined. Our hosts were lovely as well.

Perfect Getaway

Nicely tucked away on the water’s edge is Shore House. Only a stone’s throw from so many things to do but off the beaten path enough to help you forget your troubles. Newport, Providence, New Bedford, Bristol all have plenty of things to do for anyone, no matter what you like. Shore House has all the amenities of home with the amazing views to go with it.

Beautiful!

This is the second time we have stayed at Jan and John's home and, if possible, we enjoyed it even more than the first. This beautiful house has amenities found in luxury homes, gorgeous views and amazing sunsets. During the past few years we have visited Portsmouth five times. This is our favorite property by far. Exactly what we needed! Beautiful home with a breathtaking view at all times. Gracious host! Close to everything, able to enjoy Portsmouth and thier warm community, Newport and the cliff walk, Providence for a nice city vibe, and New Hampshire to hike the moutain. Each day returning to this wonderful shore house. When we come back to R.I., we know where we will be staying!
