"Clean, quiet, great staff. Bring your own pillow though. Your options are either rock hard or so soft your head sinks to the mattress. I use this spot a lot for work, and will continue to. Just bring my own pillow when I do."

"A wonderful property in a fabulous location. We were a group of 7 woman attending a retreat down the street so we used the house only to spend the night in, and for a cup of coffee and brief sit on the porch time, in the morning. The coffee was much appreciated and most of the beds were comfortable. I think that for most people staying here there would be children in some of the beds (who don't care about bed hardness), the 2 smaller ones in the upper loft being quite hard so that solutions to this were looked for each night, and we figured out ways around this as time went by. It is difficult to find a house that doesn't have bunk beds for our unique situation, so this seemed like a great option. Other than that the house was awesome. Quiet location, not near the main road. A beautiful place at a great price. Thank you very much!"

"We had a really nice stay overall. The house itself is cute, cozy, and well-stocked with thoughtful touches like board games, DVDs, and streaming apps. The waterfront setting is beautiful! We loved sitting at the kitchen table watching wildlife and even spotted eagles and osprey.A couple of things to be aware of: the bedroom layout doesn’t allow for full privacy, as there are open spaces on the sides of the rooms. This may not matter to everyone, but it was challenging for us since sound travels easily between rooms and some of us are very light sleepers. The only bathroom is downstairs, and the stairs are quite steep, so something to keep in mind for nighttime use.We also ran into an issue with the heat downstairs not working during a cold, 40 degree weekend, which made it pretty uncomfortable and unfortunately wasn’t resolved during our stay. Parking is shared with the other property and can be a bit confusing at first when arriving, and it’s very dark at night due to limited lighting (the street light was not working).That said, we really enjoyed the area. The island is charming, the people were friendly, and we had great meals at the two local spots. It’s also a quick drive to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, which was a highlight.While the home has a lot of charm and could be perfect for a couple, the layout and heating issue would make me hesitant to stay again with a group."
