"We spent 3 nights at Playa Nicuesa, and were totally bowled over. This place really is a hidden gem, and all the staff work hard to make it that way. Everything about our stay ran so smoothly, from our pickup and boat transfer on arrival, to our departure. Beautiful location, so calm and peaceful. Wonderful staff, all very friendly, polite and knowledgeable, and great that they always remembered our names! Olman's welcome on the pier and his easygoing manner made us feel at home straight away. We loved our room (which was spotlessly clean) - the furnishings and the wrap-around balcony with its jungle view and sounds. So much wildlife to watch and listen to! We particularly enjoyed our trail walks with the guides Oscar and Jean-Carlos, and I felt totally chilled after my massage with Isabella. The food was always freshly prepared and delicious. We're so glad we stayed here, and hope to return one day."

"Everything was wonderful. The room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The staff was great. Extremely attentive and friendly. It was our 56th wedding anniversary and they sent a nice chachuterie board to our room. Every evening the maid came by with a sweet treat for each room. The property is very nice and right on the bay. Very relaxing atmosphere . I would definitely consider returning to the Amaka Lodge "

"We stayed at Casa Jean for 5 nights and enjoyed it very much. The location is very private and the views are amazing. The road getting to the property is a bit rough but getting there was worth it. We did some great hikes in the area and we would certainly go back. The property manager Lucretia welcomed us in and was very accommodating and pleasant to communicate with. "The rooms were clean and spacious. The meals were healthy, delicious, and varied - prepared by cheerful and skilled cooks in the onsite kitchen, and served in a comfortable and nicely decorated dining hall overlooking the grounds and forest. I highly recommend booking a tour of the grounds to learn more about the history of the garden and the habitat conservation efforts underway in the area. Our tour guide, Jason, shared expert bird and plant identification information, as well as fascinating descriptions of the ecological interactions among some of the species in this premontane forest. The staff were super friendly, and the grounds were peaceful and lovely. Nearby San Vito was also fun to explore, as it is not a "touristy" place, but a regular town with an interesting history. "
