"I liked that something beautiful and useful was made from such an old structure. It is a restored piece of history in a beautiful setting. I am fussy about my pillows and I thought they seemed a little flat. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Root River Retreat and would stay here again! Easy check-in and check-out process. The space was clean, cozy and contained everything we needed for a short stay to enjoy golf and biking. Beds and furnishings were very comfortable. Towels and bedding were soft and new. Host was a gem, providing bike storage and parking space. She answered our questions very quickly and provided delicious cookies to enjoy upon our arrival. Safe, quiet neighborhood with easy access to state bike trail and very close to golf courses and local restaurants. "

"We've stayed at many VRBOs, from mountain cabins to beach houses. But my daughter, who loves animals, said this was her favorite VRBO ever! She loved all the details of the house, and the farm was so beautiful. We're definitely going to make this an annual trip. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Now that we've found this gem, we'll be back for sure!"

"Stayed 3 weeks. It was wonderful. Especially liked the trails for hiking with our dog. It was close to Rochester and Stewartville had a nice grocery called Fareway. Also had a good place for pizza called 2 Brothers. My son liked the proximity to Anytime Fitness too."

"Nice, cozy home, great location- close to bike trails and Lanesboro is a fun town to visit!"

"We have been spending a lot of time in hotels while we go bike riding on the trails that are farther away. By far this hotel was the cleanest I have been to in a long while. We had a problem with our tv and they tried so hard to fix it, when they realized it wasn’t going to be resolved with an easy fix they moved us to another room. It was a wonderful get away and the hotel was so comfortable and clean."
