"The lodge is in the middle of nowhere. If you like that kind of thing, you will love it. Food is a long way away so eat before you go in or carry some groceries with you. You can use the kitchen. "

"Great property beautiful and quiet place. The owners were close by and offered us the use of their kayak and canoe, they were great. Every night we enjoyed spectacular sun sets."
Cozy Log Lodge w/firepit on Bottle Lake, super close to ATV roads, fishing, hiking
10/10 Excellent
"The property was exactly as pictured and exactly what you envision when you stay upta camp in Maine. We had such a wonderful time and can’t wait to stay again. Heidi and Ed have outfitted the property so beautifully and with large groups in mind. It was simply excellent! The screened in porch was everything and brought in so much of the lake breezes that nights were comfortable. Recommend it for any large groups or families. "

"Such a beautiful spot- This is what Maine is about. Really well provisioned camp with comfy beds!Quiet - blue sky, green forest and the lake. Just great"
"We ended up not staying at this property. Per written instructions, we couldn't check in before 4 PM. We arrived at 4:15 PM. While we could access the building via a door code, there was no one inside, but the kitchen light was on, and someone had definitely been there. It was creepy. There was no vehicle in the driveway. We checked all the upstairs bedroom doors. All were locked. I called the contact number & spoke to the woman who apparently owns the property. I explained the situation. She was unable to give me an answer, though she was willing to charge me. I explained we had a place we needed to be & couldn't wait for whoever was supposed to be there to unlock doors. We waited a few more minutes. No one came, so I left her a message that since we were unable to check in, we were not staying & I expected NOT to be charged.
The property was somewhat run down on the outside. There is no paved driveway. It's an old house on a busy street. What we could see of the inside had been painted & updated. While it looks like the picture on Expedia's website, it's a property that needs exterior work.
This is clearly a case where the property owner is using the place for an income stream, but she is likely not living locally. The contact number is a Connecticut phone #, but she may not be living in CT.
We were VERY disappointed with the property & the contact person. At this point it appears I have not been charged, which is what I expected! I would not recommend this B & B."
Newly Renovated Camp on West Grand Lake in Grand Lake Stream Maine
10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely beautiful camp, has everything you need kitchen wise. Remote location. You are inbetween 2 camps, but you dont feel stacked on top of each other. Perfect view of the sunset. Gigantic lake with waves, had much fun floating in the tubes riding the waves. Beware! The weather on the lake can change very quickly! We found great cell reception when we went out on the lake in the boat! Crystal clear water and friendly neighbors that rescue you when the current carries you away. Shout out to Mark down the road for saving us haha. We had quite the adventure and best weekend. We would love to return in the future to this beautiful place. Also my dog did not get a single tick! Very nice outdoor space to hang out in. "
